SMUD’s 59th Street Reuse Project
1970’s Aerial of SMUD’s 59th Street Campus
The Sacramento Valley Section of the American Planning Association
presents a visioning workshop in partnership with SMUD and Stonebridge.
Come join your fellow planners for an overview presentation and mini-
design charrette of SMUD’s 59th Street project–a 20-acre infill site, used
as an industrial, corporation yard since 1946. The developer,
Stonebridge Properties, is exploring future development reuse options,
including mixed-use and transit-oriented development (TOD), that will
best support the surrounding residential and neighborhood-serving
commercial uses.
Your input will inform the project team as they develop potential options
for reusing and redeveloping the site. With other planners and experts,
explore and brainstorm on planning best practices and development
opportunities that balance project constraints within the specific
neighborhood context.
