Die Herausforderung

Zahlreiche exzellente Technologien entstehen in EU-geförderten Forschungsprojekten. Allerdings finden diese trotz hohem Innovationspotential nur selten Anwendung in der digitalen Medien- und Internetbranche. Darüber hinaus finden diese Unter-

nehmen zu selten den Zugang zu EU-Förderungen.

Die Folge ist, dass der Technologietransfer zwischen Forschung und einzelnen Kreativunternehmen

verzögert oder überhaupt nicht stattfindet. Dies verhindert eine erfolgreiche Kommerzialisierung von Entwicklungen

in Form von Produkten und Dienstleistungen.

Von der Forschung zur Innovation

SMARD unterstützt kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) der digitalen Medien- und Internetbranche in der Nutzung und Umsetzung von Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaktivitäten im Bereich vernetzte Medien.

Ziele

• Zugang zu Forschungsergebnissen

• Langfristige Erhöhung der Anzahl an KMU in EU-geförderten Forschungsprogrammen

• Zusammenstellung und Etablierung von zielorientierten Prozessen und Dienstleistungen für Technologietransfer

Maßnahmen

1 Umsetzung einer europaweiten Befragung, um den konkreten Bedarf europäischer KMU im Bereich vernetzter Medien an IT-basierten Lösungen und Entwicklungen zu analysieren

2 Erarbeitung und Bereitstellung von Guidelines und Erfolgs- geschichten aus der Praxis zum Thema Markteinführung und Kommerzialisierung (z.B. Zugang zu Finanzierung, Geschäfts - prozessmodellierung, Coaching)

3 Entwicklung eines strategischen Fahrplans, um eine nachhaltige und zielgerichtete Einbindung von europäischen KMU in der EU Forschungsförderung sicherzustellen.

The challenge

There are many outstanding technologies developed as part of EU-funded research projects. Despite their high innovation potential, those technologies are rarely applied in the digital media and internet industries. Besides, those companies have difficulties in accessing EU funding.

One consequence is that the technology transfer between research institutions and creative enterprises is delayed or does not happen at all. This prevents the integration of new technologies into next generation products and services.

From research to innovation

SMARD is a project that aims to help small and medium-sized media and internet enterprises (SMEs) to implement and make use of research and develop-ment activities in the networked media field.

Specific goals

• To facilitate SMEs access to research findings

• To increase SMEs participation in EU-funded research programmes

• To compile and establish goal-oriented processes and services for technology transfer

• To support technology commercialisation

Tools

1 Europe-wide survey to analyse the needs of European SMEs in the field of networked media regarding IT-based solutions and developments.

2 Showcase success stories related to market access and to commercialisation (e.g. access to financing, business process modelling, coaching).

3 Strategic roadmap to ensure the progressive involvement of European SMEs in EU-funded research programmes.
