This is the 3º International Biotechnology Congress, completely organized by Biotechnology Engineering Students from the Tecnologico de Monterrey. Vision • To be an excellent quality congress. • To be up-to-date with biotech advancements. • To establish important relationships.
Mission• To link students-research centers-companies-
government.• To help with the disclosure of national and
international advancements.• To leave the vision of a promising future within this
science to the students.• To effectively create a network amongst the invited
organizations.
Objectives• Leave SIMBIOSIS as a prestigious trademark, giving
it international recognition.• Expand the vision of opportunities within
biotechnology.• Establish relationships with diverse biotech
companies that will benefit both parties.
Student Approach• Approximate impact: 400 attendees, plus VIP’s (company
representatives, institutions, etc.).• Every university with biotechnology within Mexico will be
invited (ITESM, UNAM, UDEM, UANL, etc.).• Selected universities and colleges from USA will be invited
(Texas A&M, UT, Arizona State University, Framingham College, etc.).
• The approach will be done via email and the official website -• http://simbiosis.saibt.org
Content• The general idea is to focus on bioprocessing and molecular
biology within the 3 sections of health, bioenergy and agriculture, and in the areas related to these (peptide synthesis, Influenza AH1N1 vaccine, nutrigenomics, industrial scaling, etc.).
• Bring passionate & charismatic speakers, that are able to give the students a very inspiring talk.
• Dynamic discussion panels between technology transfer centers’ and parks’ directors (Monterrey International City of Knowledge, FEMSA Biotechnology Center, CIDCS UANL, Biotechnology Center of Excellence Corporation, and if possible, the Worcester Research Park).
