Background

As the global leader in feminine products,

the Always brand is in a great position to

inspire and encourage women around the

world. The total brand experience or “brand

world” is a vital to the brand’s influence and

impact on the consumer. Always is currently

in the process of assembling all of their

iconic assets in order to construct their total

brand world.

Process

The first phase was to explore and audit the

ownable assets that contribute to the overall

experience of several iconic brands. This

research led to several ideas for how to bring

such success to the Always brand.

The objective in this project was to provide

strategic insight & inspiration for the future

Always brand world.

Resulting Concept

The end result was created around the

concept of female empowerment &

sisterhood. The goal was to emphasize the

bond that all women share. In addition,

previous Always branding guidelines were

considered & updated to coincide with this

modern interpretation of the brand, without

forgetting the brand heritage.

Background

The Miami iPhone app serves as a mobile

resource for students, faculty, and visitors.

It was created & is maintained by the Miami

University Mobile Learning Center.The app

allows users access to news, event calendars,

dining menus, and more. Staff recently

looked to make improvements within the app

in order to offer users a more user-friendly

and visually appealing experience.

Process

The process included collaborating with

contacts in other disciplines to identify

problem areas in the app as well as brain-

storming solutions. This research developed

into a full redesign of the app, in which an

entirely new visual system was created.

The objective in this project was to create

an updated and consistent visual identity for

the app, while also improving the user’s

experience.

Solution

The redesign of the Miami app resulted in a

more modern and cohesive user experience.

The design included innovative elements,

such as the left slide-out menu, inspired

from other emerging apps at the time. The

redesign also updated the app’s general look

& feel with a cohesive new color scheme,

icon system, and overall page design accross

the entire application.

Background

Hane is an alcoholic beverage brewing

company specializing in organic hard apple

cider. Hane Hard Cider is an industry leader

in the United States, especially in the mid-

west and southern regions of the country.

Hane’s target market is primarily young

twenty-something’s that enjoy spending time

out with friends & exploring new scenes.

Hane offers an alternative option for

drinkers who are looking for a healthier

option as Hane Hard Apple Cider is gluten

free, GMO free, and fully organic.

Process

The process began with brainstorming

unique concepts that reflect the authenticity

and superiority of the brand. The next step

was diving deep into the chosen concept

via internet research & sketching until the

concept felt complete. The branding solution

created was then implemented with several

practical applications.

The objective in this project was to produce

a successful branding solution & design aes-

thetic for Hane Hard Cider.

Solution

The final branding solution for Hane Hard

Cider embodies elements of rustic

practicality with components of youthful-

ness and style. The rustic textures as well as

the hand-lettering represent the rural roots

of the company, while the neon hues and

bright lights embody the current popularity

of the brand.

HANE’S HARD APPLE CIDERByrdstown, Tennessee

Hane’s is an alcoholic beverage brewing company specializing in organic hard apple cider. Hane’s is responsibile for the brewing, packaging, and marketing of it’s signature product, Hane’s Hard Apple Cider, as well as other products. Hane’s is an industry leader in the United States, especially in the midwest and southern regions of the country.

The primary target market of Hane’s is trendy socialites in their twenties and thirties. Hane’s offers an alternative option for drinkers who do not drink beer or wine or are unable to due to health concerns because Hane’s Hard Apple Cider is gluten free, GMO free, and fully organic. Hane’s primary customers enjoy spending time out on the town, and exploring new bars and restaurants.

Hane’s maine competition is Angry Orchard. What sets Hanes apart from the competition is that the product is organic, gluten free, and GMO free. Hane’s is also more exclusive than the competition, as it it only sold in certain types of bars and shops in the US. Hane’s is slightly pricier than the competition, as it is of higher quality.

Happy December is an online resource for

gift-giving during the holiday season.

Although it is not affiliated with any

religious holiday, happy december embodies

the excitement that uniquely takes place

during the month of december. This brand

offers a unique way of celebrating this sea-

son though gifts, greeting cards, and more.

It also offers gift-guides for everyone on

consumers’ holiday lists.

process

The process began by exploring different

design strategies that embody the warmth &

happiness of december, without implying any

sort of religious affiliation. Once a design

concept was chosen, it was applied to various

products that would ultimately be sold on

the happy december website. Lastly, the

website & mobile version were designed to

bring the concept to life.

The objective in this project was to create a

design solution for a nonreligious holiday gift

resource, happy december.

solution

The end result utilized unconventional holi-

day colors including shades of teal, gray, and

orange. The brand employed sophisticated

typography contrasted with playful illustra-

tion. Celebratory photography was also used

in addition to illustration. The end result

combined holiday warmth and excitement

with a sophisticated design strategy,

intended to inspire consumers with the

holiday season.

Background

The Oxford police department was looking

to release an informational booklet to Miami

University students to inform on the dangers

of binge drinking. The booklet was to target

first year college students, and convey the

necessary information in an engaging way.

The booklet would be distributed in the

dorms or available to download onto

students’ iPads.

Process

The process included exploring several

alcohol related themes in order to create a

relatable and entertaining concept. The next

step included delivering a captivating

booklet & interactive iPad edition.

The objective in this project was to deliver

factual information to students in a capti-

vating and relevant way via booklet & ipad

version.

Solution

This concept was centered around the

consequences that are sometimes faced

after partying. The booklet depicts several

celebrities notorious for their drinking relat-

ed issues as an example of what can happen

after the “party” that is binge drinking.
