Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Wellbeing Meditation This morning we are going to listen to a meditation story. For the meditation
Literacy: News Sharing At the start of our focus book this week, the crab needed a shell but no one would share their shell with the crab.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Hygiene Happy tooth, sad tooth This morning we are going to learn about what makes our teeth happy or sad.

session this morning you can sit with your legs crossed or you can lay down and close your eyes as long as you are comfortable. When you are in your comfortable position we will begin the story. Physical Development: Games
Fruit salad! Our game today is called fruit salad! To start our game ask your group to create a circle. Create a circle song Make circle, make a circle big and round Make a circle, make a circle big and round Everybody join hands
Later, in the story the crab did not want to share his shell with any of the other sea creatures. Do you think that this is kind? How do you think the crab felt at the beginning of the story? How did he feel at the end? Would you share your shell with your friends? Our activity today is about sharing. Talk to the children about sharing... • What is sharing? • What do you share? • Who do you share it
with? • Do we share at
school? • Why is it kind to
share?
Adults, before you ask the questions write on the board, the word sharing and make a bubble around it.
The most important part of keeping our teeth healthy is to make sure we brush them twice a day! Here is a song about brushing your teeth! Your activity today is to work together as a group and sort the foods into groups. What types of food make them happy or sad? Place the foods that make your teeth happy into one section and the foods that make your teeth sad into another. Adults, talk to the children about why these foods make their teeth sad if you eat too many of them. Questions: Do you know why we should not eat so
• Chalk board • Paintbrush • Water
The instructions for this activity are for the adults to call out different numbers from 0-30 and the children are to write the number on the chalk board with the paint brush and water. To extend their learning think of some simple addition or subtraction for the children to write the answer on the chalkboard. Have fun! Expressive Arts and Design: Let’s get creative this morning; we are going to be looking at Claude Monet and his different art work! Claude Monet loved
This morning we will be recapping the letter k.
But first we need to warm up our fingers so we can do our best handwriting!
We are going to do the playdough disco!
If you do not have playdough at home you can use an eraser or even a cloth!
Click this link to see the playdough disco!
Do you feel ready to write now?
Who can remember the rhyme we learnt yesterday for the sound k?
Here is the rhyme for k:
Down the kangaroo’s body tail and leg.
• Banana • Pear • Strawberry
The adult can call out one piece of fruit and the children with the assigned fruit have to quickly swap places! The adult can also call out “fruit salad” and everyone has to swap places! Have fun!
When the children answer the questions you can create a brain storm to recap the meaning of the word at the end!
When you have finished your discussion you can move on to your writing activity! Today you will be writing about a time you have shared. This can be at school or at home but your sentence must include what you have shared and who you have shared it with! Once you have completed your sentence you can draw a picture to match it!
many sweets? Why is milk good for your teeth? Why are vegetables good for you? Have you eaten these foods before?

observing and capturing the different light throughout the day. I wonder if the painting below was done during the morning or evening, what do you think? For this activity you will need: White paper Print out of painting / painting on the computer screen Oil Pastels While looking at Monet work, you are to try and recreate it on your paper to the best of your ability. Use lots of different colours and explore the different things you would see at the seaside! When you have completed the back ground, it’s time to draw in the sun with a yellow or orange pastel.
Thinking back to yesterday’s lesson can we remember any of the words that start with k?
• Kangaroo • Key • Kiwi • Kite • Kitten • King
We are now going to practice our letter
Literacy : News Sharing a shell Our activity today starts with a story! First, turn on your listening ears on! Adults, click on the link to listen to your focus activity book Sharing a shell. Questions about Sharing a Shell: Who was looking for a shell at the start of the story? Do you remember the colour of the shell the crab found? How many sea
Mathematics: Number Focus Rocket countdown! Today’s activity we will be focusing on counting backwards from 20-0. An engaging count down activity is a rocket launch! To begin our activity here is a real rocket launch with a countdown from 10! https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=zRGeLQkWuYk
Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Hygiene Hygiene sequencing activity This afternoon we will be sequencing daily hygiene activities. How much attention do give these activities when we do them? Together we are going to sequence these activities into 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Ask the children to talk about their routine at home. This could be different from the other children’s. Why does this come first? Why does this come second?
Then using a black pastel draw in the boat. Have fun recreating the art work!
Literacy: Phonics Today we will be recapping the sounds z and w.
Can you remember any of the words we spoke about yesterday?
Can we think of different words that start with each of these sounds?
formation of k on our page.
Make sure that you are sitting on your chair all the way back with your feet on the floor, holding your pencil correctly.
Use the rhyme to guide you if you get stuck!
After you have finished writing the letter k draw a picture at the bottom of our page off an object that starts with k.
Remember to use the correct colours! Mathematics: Project (Weight and Length) We are going to be continuing our project on Weight and Length.
creatures lived in the shell? Why did crab not want to share his shell anymore? How did the story end? Once you have completed the story and your questions it’s time for the writing activity. Our activity today is a story sequencing writing activity and I would like you to think about what came first, next and last in the story. In your groups discuss the key parts of the story (first, next and last) by drawing a picture and writing a sentence about each one. Adults, model this on the white board for the children to see. For example:
Once you have finished watching the rocket launch it’s your turn to be the rocket and go into space. Use the song “zoom zoom zoom” Zoom zoom zoom we’re going to the moon Zooom zoom zoom we’ll be there very soon And then count down from 20! Now we have launched our rocket we can form numbers in space using our bodies. See how many numbers you can make with your bodies! Have fun! Understanding the World
Why does this come third? Why does this come fourth? When you have finished your group discussion ask the children to number each activity in the order they do it at home.
Literacy: Phonics To begin our phonics activity we are going to warm up our fingers with SPIDER PUSH UPS!
Here are the letter formation rhymes to help forming z
Zig, Zag, Zig!
Down, up, down, up!

This morning we are going to be learning about weight. We are going to start our lesson thinking about when you have held something that is very heavy. Now think about something that you have picked up that is very light. Talk in your groups and share your experiences with heavy and light objects. An activity you can give the children is to go around the room and find something that they think is heavy and something that is light. Give the children 20 seconds to go and stand by or point to an object that is heavy or light.
First – The crab was looking for a shell to share. Next – When the crab shared the shell. Last- Finding a bigger shell for all three sea creatures to live in. Use the worksheet below to complete the story sequencing activity.

Virtual Jellyfish trip This week our art theme is water. My favourite animal in the water is a Jellyfish! So, let’s explore the different types of jelly fish we can find in the ocean! We are going to go on a virtual trip to the aquarium and we will be able to see lots of different Jellyfish! Use this link to see a live recording of a jelly fish on the Monterey Bay aquarium. Can you describe what you can see? What colour are they? Let’s continue our virtual tour on jellyfish and explore different jellyfish: Black sea nettle https://www.montereybaya
Spider push-ups involve moving the fingers together in a coordinated way. Put one hand, palm up, on your desk. Place the other hand, palm down, on top of it. With your fingertips touching the “matching” fingertip of the other hand, bring the fingers together. Then bring the fingers back down to the original position. Perform exercise 5 times. Then turn your listening ears on with a “click” Now it’s time to learn our new sound! Today we will be
different words again that start with each of these sounds can we pick two NEW words for each sound and practice our writing.
When you have completed your writing let’s now draw one picture for each sound, representing one of the words you have just written.
Remember to use the correct colours!
Physical Development: Gym with Coach Marc!
Once you have completed the warm up activity, complete the worksheet below. You will need: • Marble • Sharpener • Pen • Unifix cube • Eraser • Lego

Before we start writing ensure all the children are sitting with their chairs pushed in and feet on the floor.
Using a piece of paper write down k and see how many you can do.
Make sure you use your finger to make a space between each letter.
variety of shells you have selected. When the children have finished exploring the shells ask them to pick a shell each to draw. Use a plain piece of paper for the children to draw on and help guide them on the shape and size. Once completed you can colour them in! Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Wellbeing Emotion octopus This afternoon we are going to create an emotion octopus. Let’s first think about what an octopus looks like.. How many legs does it have? Do octopuses have
Expressive Arts and Design: Create your own shell In our book today we heard about a glittery shell found at the end of the story. Today you are going to use the template to create your own collage shell! Adults, for this activity gather lots of different coloured paper, tissue paper and shiny cellophane that the children to cut or tear. Use lots of colours and stick it on the shell and create the most amazing shell you can think of. Who can make the brightest shell? Who can use the most colours?

Now we have completed our list can you pick two words from each list to write down. When completing your writing you can draw a picture to represent your sound!
We are now going to practice our formation of k.
When we have finished writing our k lets draw a picture at the bottom of our page of an object that starts with k.
Remember to use the correct colours! Mathematics: Project (Weight and Length) We are going to be continuing our project on Weight and Length. This afternoon we are going to be learning about weight.
Today’s lesson is about balance.
What is balance?

straight or wavy legs? What colour is an octopus? Where does the octopus live? Now, we are going to use a plain piece of paper and draw an octopus. As a group we can write down all the different emotions we felt this week. Did you feel a little sad on Monday morning coming into school? Were you happy when you left school? Maybe you felt a little tired on Thursday morning? To complete our octopus I would like you to draw the emotion you feel now on the octopuses face.
Have fun being creative!
You can make it skinny or wide, short or tall, however you choose. Glue your shark face onto your light blue cardstock paper.
2. Cut out the ocean waves from your dark blue cardstock paper (or construction paper) and glue them at the bottom of your light blue paper, underneath your shark face.

scale balance you have to make both side the same weight on the scale.
This is what we will be experimenting with in our lesson today.
Using the weighing scale and put 1 unifix cube on each side and explain to the children that this is balanced because they weigh the same amount.
Then add a few more unifix cubes to one side of the scale so it shows the children that the scales are not balanced because one side is heavier.
Once completed the warm up activity, use the worksheet to begin.
Today’s worksheet asks you make the scale balance using a pencil
Different emotions can include: Happy Sad Tired Excited Nervous I cannot wait to see your octopuses!
