Initially launched as a pilot project (EPS) in 2000
through an executive issuance.
Usage by all government agencies mandated by law
(Republic Act 9184) in 2003.
Current PhilGEPS system launched in 2006 as the
central portal for all procurement activities by all
government agencies from the national level downto the smallest political unit (barangay)
