SES Launch Seminar Introduction As a starting point of the Social inclusion and Energy management for informal urban Settlements (SES) Project, a Launch seminar was conducted at the University of Danube Krems from 03 to 11 March, 2017. The launch was organized by DUK (Danube University Krems), Austria, for the SES and BiNuCom members. DiscussionatthecommunitycenterSchöopfwerk

Schöpfwerkisamunicipalresidentialareawhichishometomanymigrantsfromothercontinents.Discussionwasconductedatthecommunitycenteronthecivicengagementandresidentialconflictresolutionspracticeofthearea.TheSecondtourwasconductedatSonnwendtquarterVienna;aCo-housingandcooperativehousingproject.Thisprojectwasinitiatedbydeveloperswiththesupportofthecitygovernment.Theypromotedtheirideas/proposaltothepublicandinterestedindividualsbecameshareownersofthehousingproject.

Ontheseconddayofthetour,participantswereprovidedwithapresentationonanewsmartgridcitydevelopmentapproachandtheimplementationoftheapproachonthedevelopmentofthenewsiteinAspern,Vienna.‘’SeestadtAspern’’isoneofEurope’slargesturbandevelopmentprojects.Participantswerealsogivenatourinsidethedevelopment.InthosesitevisitsthepartnersfromEthiopiagotagripofthecurrenthousing

SESprojectmanagementdiscussionsDiscussionswereconductedontheSESprojectmanagementduringthelastthreedaysofthelaunchseminar.Thediscussionsfocusedoncasestudies,curriculaandThematicTraining.MITOpenCourseWareaccesswaspresentedbyTomasPfefferfromDepartmentofMigrationandGlobalization.MartinaFriedrich,theNationalErasmusContactpoint,briefedtheEthiopianpartnersonthefinancialmanagementofthegrant.Relevantsectionsofthepartnershipagreementwereexplained.Shealsorespondedtoallthequestions

raisedbytheorganizersandparticipantsoftheseminaronthefinancialmanagementofthegrant.Finally,theIndianparticipantsfromtheorganizationalandadministrationofBInUComprojectmanagemententertainedquestionsraisedbytheSESprojectpartners.Fromthisdiscussion,theSESpartnersgotagoodintroductionontheprojectscale,outputandtheextentoftheirengagementontheproject.Inaddition,preparationdiscussionswereconductedonthenationalconsultationmeetingsandlocaldisseminationworkshops.
