createaplatformforexchangeofideas/experiencesandtoofficiallylaunchtheSESproject.Day,onecommencedwithanintroductionsessionamongparticipantsandmembersofthehostuniversity.WelcomingspeechesbytheRectoroftheuniversity,bytheDeanoftheEducation,ArtsandArchitecturefacultyandbytheHeadofMigrationandGlobalizationdepartmentwereheldrespectively.TeammembersfrombothprojectsandtheEuropeanpartnerspresentedonarangeoftopics.ThefirstpresentationwasconductedbyDarshiniMahadeviafromCEPTonthespecificsituationinIndia.Inthispresentation,theslumfreecityplanningcontextsapproachesandmethodologieswereexplained.Presentationson‘housingEthiopia’byMr.YonasAlemayehuSorressaandon‘SurveyreportonArchitecturecurriculainEthiopia’byDawitBentiErenawerealsoconducted.BothpresenterswerefromEiABC.Thefirstpresenterprovidedageneraloverviewon

DiscussionatthecommunitycenterSchöopfwerk

Schöpfwerkisamunicipalresidentialareawhichishometomanymigrantsfromothercontinents.Discussionwasconductedatthecommunitycenteronthecivicengagementandresidentialconflictresolutionspracticeofthearea.TheSecondtourwasconductedatSonnwendtquarterVienna;aCo-housingandcooperativehousingproject.Thisprojectwasinitiatedbydeveloperswiththesupportofthecitygovernment.Theypromotedtheirideas/proposaltothepublicandinterestedindividualsbecameshareownersofthehousingproject.

Ontheseconddayofthetour,participantswereprovidedwithapresentationonanewsmartgridcitydevelopmentapproachandtheimplementationoftheapproachonthedevelopmentofthenewsiteinAspern,Vienna.‘’SeestadtAspern’’isoneofEurope’slargesturbandevelopmentprojects.Participantswerealsogivenatourinsidethedevelopment.InthosesitevisitsthepartnersfromEthiopiagotagripofthecurrenthousing

SESprojectmanagementdiscussionsDiscussionswereconductedontheSESprojectmanagementduringthelastthreedaysofthelaunchseminar.Thediscussionsfocusedoncasestudies,curriculaandThematicTraining.MITOpenCourseWareaccesswaspresentedbyTomasPfefferfromDepartmentofMigrationandGlobalization.MartinaFriedrich,theNationalErasmusContactpoint,briefedtheEthiopianpartnersonthefinancialmanagementofthegrant.Relevantsectionsofthepartnershipagreementwereexplained.Shealsorespondedtoallthequestions

raisedbytheorganizersandparticipantsoftheseminaronthefinancialmanagementofthegrant.Finally,theIndianparticipantsfromtheorganizationalandadministrationofBInUComprojectmanagemententertainedquestionsraisedbytheSESprojectpartners.Fromthisdiscussion,theSESpartnersgotagoodintroductionontheprojectscale,outputandtheextentoftheirengagementontheproject.Inaddition,preparationdiscussionswereconductedonthenationalconsultationmeetingsandlocaldisseminationworkshops.
