The harvesting head: just like a hand-picked harvest

Carefully harvested grapes are the basis for outstanding wines. But every varietal has its own specific needs. That is why the ERO Grapeliner 6000 is equipped with a finely adjustable harvesting head. Not only can the number and vertical spacing of the beaters be varied, but their amplitude and flexibi-lity are individually adjustable. In addition the width between the beaters and the shaking frequency can be easily adjusted by the driver on the touchscreen while the machine is in use.

With side tipping you have a good overview and save valuab-le time, because there is only one tank to empty.

Slat track with needle bearings, shaker mechanism and leaf rake.

The rotation speed of all harvester units is continuously monitored. Optical and acoustic signals warn the driver if there is a fault. Both the main and transverse conveyors are equipped with standstill monitors. A message on the screen informs the driver, who can then react immediately to a fault caused, for example, by a foreign object. The extremely free-moving slats, which run on needle bearings, are maintenance-free during the working season, so that there is more time for harvesting.Should the unexpected happen, the slat track can be folded downwards with a few simple operations, so that, with the shaker mechanism opened hydrau-lically, the machine can be returned to the row.

Harvested grapes are conveyed on one side only: shorter cleaning times, fewer parts to wear out

The three-point harvest cleaning system reduces leaf content to a minimum. To avoid juice losses approximately 70 % of the leaves are removed from the harvest by the carefully optimised crossflow jet and the leaf rake. Next, the suction fan collects further leaves before the grapes are transported upwards by the belt conveyor. And finally the upper suction fan, located at the transverse conveyor, removes remaining leaves so that only a clean harvest reaches the grape bin. The single-sided conveying system with just one conveyor belt combines a substantial reduction in cleaning and maintenance work with fewer parts that are subject to wear.

Post guidance and post detection with automatic interruption of the shaking mechanism are useful extras in vineyards with wooden or concrete poles. They prevent damage to the trellis installation and considerably reduce beater wear. The 38 cm wide slat track passage makes entering a row easier and provides clearance for vines, posts and anchors.

The leaf rake and crossflow jet remove leaves even before they come into contact with the grapes.

The de-stemmer allows only the best grapes into the grape bin.

The rectangular cross-section of the beaters helps to ensure uniform wear and a longer useful life.

Shaker mechanism: flexibility of the beaters can be ad-justed individually.

Post guiding and post detection with automatic interruption of shaking enable harvesting in vineyards with concrete posts.

The capacity of the de-stemmer allows for a higher har-vesting speed, even with a heavy crop.

De-stemming with the Grapeliner 6000: Optimum harvesting with large or small crops

The quality of red wine benefits when stems and grapes are separated at an early stage. For this reason ERO has had a grape harvester with a built-in De-stemmer in its range since 1989. The de-stemmer on the Grapeliner 6000 has automatic level regulation sys-tem. This means that conditions remain the same even when running along a slope. The optional plastic de-stemmer basket is very gentle to the grapes, even with a large crop.

Page 11: Series 6000 - ero-viti. · PDF file2 Proven system - new technology Keep the good, integrate the new - those were the instructions for develop-ment of the ERO Grapeliner Series 6000

11

The rotation speeds of the de-stemmer basket and stripping shaft can be adjusted and monitored separately on the touchscreen to suit the type of grape and degree of ripeness. Once correctly set, the speeds can be saved in the harvesting routines.A brush ensures uniform stripping results even with high throughputs. If the de-stemmer is not required, it can be quickly and easily switched off - without the driver having to climb down from the grape harvester. That reduces wear and the daily cleaning time.

While running the driver can keep an eye on the stems ejected from the de-stemmer and the harvest entering the tank, and correct the settings if necessary.

The VITIselect System: nothing but berries in the grape bin

So that only the precious berries reach your grape bin, ERO offers the Gra-peliner 6000 with the VITIselect sorting table. In addition to proven three-stage harvest cleaning, the de-stemmer with sorting table ensures a perfect grape harvest. The sorting table can handle large quantities and ensures the cleanest possible harvest at high operating speeds.

Page 13: Series 6000 - ero-viti. · PDF file2 Proven system - new technology Keep the good, integrate the new - those were the instructions for develop-ment of the ERO Grapeliner Series 6000

13

At the touch of a button in his cabin the driver can decide whether the grapes are stripped and sorted. Similarly the speed of the sorting table can be adjus-ted from the driver‘s cabin. The spacing of the sorting rolls can be adjusted to suit the variety and grape diameter. The robust design guarantees a long working life and minimum wear. VITIselect ensures not just the best possible harvest, it is also extremely economical.

From the cabin the driver has a good view of the de-stemmer and sorting table, and can make any necessary setting changes without delay.

To make cleaning and maintenance easier, the housing of the de-stemmer can be opened and the sorting table extended.

Harvest transfer, destemming and sorting - easy for the ERO Grapeliner Series 6000

High harvest quality is becoming ever more important. For the same reason de-stemming in the vineyard during harvesting has been standard practice in Europe for about ten years. For several years now many grape harvesters for the European market have also been equipped with a sorting table. With their large vineyard areas, very long rows of vines and high yields, the capacity of the grape bin is not sufficient for the quantity of grapes produced by a row.Grape harvesters with a transfer conveyor solve this problem, but until now did not offer the option of stripping the grapes and sorting them.

Page 15: Series 6000 - ero-viti. · PDF file2 Proven system - new technology Keep the good, integrate the new - those were the instructions for develop-ment of the ERO Grapeliner Series 6000

15

ERO has developed a grape harvester with transfer conveyor, which can be equipped with both a de-stemmer and a sorting table. It is the first grape harvester worldwide to combine all three systems - conveyor transfer, de-stemming and sorting. In addition the system features a grape bin with a capacity of 1,500 litres. Just by pressing a button the driver can switch from the transfer conveyor to the grape bin. This enables the harvesting of short rows without an accom-panying transport vehicle.

The driver has a second joystick with which he can adjust the height and angle of the transfer conveyor while driving.

The conveyor continuously transfers harvested grapes to the transport vehicle. In this way long rows of vines with a high yield can be efficiently mechanically harvested.

The 1,500 litre grape bin can be used to store grapes while the trans-port vehicle is being changed. The grape harvester can continue to operate uninterrupted. The grape bin is tipped to empty it - the ope-ration is quick and treats the grapes gently.

Automatic steering, ultrasonic height indicator and speed control unit: Relief for the driver and protection for the valuable vineyard

Automatic steering is a real convenience. Once activated it steers the Grapeliner safely through the vineyard and guides the harvesting head on the optimum path along each row. This prevents damage to the trellis installation due to driving errors. The driver can devote his full attention to monitoring harvest parameters and creating the conditions for an optimum harvest. Today there is hardly an ERO customer who would forego automatic steering. Since its introduction in 1981, more than 90 percent of ERO grape harves-ters have been equipped with automatic steering. Still today ERO is the only manufacturer able to offer this sensible feature ex-works.

Page 17: Series 6000 - ero-viti. · PDF file2 Proven system - new technology Keep the good, integrate the new - those were the instructions for develop-ment of the ERO Grapeliner Series 6000

17

Automatic steering is standard on the Models 6175X and 6175X VITIselect. It is available as an option on all other models. The ultrasonic height sensor offers additional safety; it displays the distance between the harvesting head and the ground for the driver, and warns with a visual signal if it falls below a critical limit. The harvesting height can be saved and called up again when changing rows. With the speed control unit, harvesting can be carried out at a preset, uniform speed.
