I truly believe that anyone can succeed if theywill simply use the three important steps towardbecoming successful.
First, planning. You have to plan. You have toknow where you are going or you cannot reachyour destination. Most people do not plan to fail. They fail to plan.
Two, persistence. When you get to the end ofyour rope, tie a knot and hang on. Successful people are just
ordinary people with extraordinary determination.Three, work. Remember that God feeds the birds, but He doesn’tthrow it in the nest. As a Company we try to give you every toolyou need to achieve success, but nothing will work unless youdo. We provide every help possible for you to succeed, but youmust take that food for thought and put it into action. An idea is apent-up reservoir full of energy, absolutely worthless until put intoaction.

Director-in-Qualification Program ChangesWhen an Independent Beauty Consultant submits her Commitment Form to theDirector-in-Qualification Program, we know she’s serious about her Mary Kaybusiness. She’s ready to invest the time and energy needed to build a business thatwill enrich her life, her family’s life and the lives of other women for years to come. With that philosophy in mind, we’ve introduced a series of changes to the DIQ Pro-gram designed to strengthen new Independent Sales Directors and help them ex-perience that success.
So let’s have a look at the new Director-in-Qualification requirements (effective January 1st, 2010):
Pre-Qualifications for Potential DIQs (requirements to submit a Commitment Form):1. (NEW) Must have 10 active personal team members.2. Must be personally active (A1, A2 or A3 status.)3. (NEW) Must be a Star Consultant in either the previous quarter or have at least $1,800 inpersonal cumulative wholesale production in the current quarter .
Debut Qualifications:1. (NEW) $18,000 cumulative wholesale unit production in 1 – 4 months . At least $14,000wholesale production toward the total $18,000 wholesale requirement must come from your DIQunit members. A DIQ may contribute up to $4,000 in personal wholesale Section 1productiontoward the $18,000 cumulative unit wholesale production during the qualification period.2. At least $4,000 per month wholesale unit production .3. (NEW) DIQ must have at least $1,800 in personal cumulative wholesale production.4. (NEW) 24 active unit members (includes the DIQ.)5. (NEW) At least 10 of the 24 active unit members must have at least $600 in cumulativewholesale production (does not include the DIQ herself) during the qualification period.
With an increase of new Independent Beauty Consultants this year, our renewed priority as aCompany and as an independent sales force should be to retain all of these new team members —and ensure they have the tools, the education and confidence to build a solid customer base and asuccessful Mary Kay business at all levels. These changes to the qualifications to become anIndependent Sales Director help ensure that DIQs put their businesses on a firm footing and havethe best possible chance to form solid, high-performing units. For a list of FAQs on the new DIQrequirements, please visit the MKOCSM under News on the homepage.

Six most impo rtant habits f or Star Consultants!!Start your Mary Kay Y ear off right! 1. Talk! Talking is the most powerful way to transform potentialcustomers into actual customers. Talk about the benefit s of the prod-uct, how great the opportunity has been for and how you’d love to gettogether with her!2. Stay in contact with your customers. Use the PCP. Follow up tosee how they like the products. Make personal phones calls. Use MaryKay’s 2+2+2 rule, follow up in two days, then two weeks to schedule color appointment, thentwo months thereafter.3. Make it your goal to offer unbelievable customer service. Help your customers seethat what you do for them goes so far above and beyond that they would never eventhink about going elsewhere. Utilize the gift with purchase program. Remind themabout the Mary Kay satisfaction guarantee.4. W ork the challenges to stay motivated. Nothing motivates like success, and if you’resetting and achieving frequent and realistic goals, you start to feel like you can do anything!!5. Listen ! Your goal is not to tell and sell her everything. Your goal is to listen to her, understand what she wants then recommend the right products to meet that need.
6. Get out there and se ll! The more you sell, the more your selling skills improve. Whenyou’re really pumped up, seize the moment, use that energy, call some prospective
Booking & Recruiting ‘Chicken List’ A "chicken list" is a list of those people so big and successful that you are too "chicken" to call them! It'sthe most powerful and valuable list you will ever make.
START NOWMake a list of all the women you are "chicken" to ask -
• maybe they hold what you think are 'great' jobs (remember, they are still workingfor someone else who controls their hours, pay and destiny and they are probablywives and moms who might be open to the idea of flexibility and big girl pay to havefamily time and priorities!)• Super sharp appearance• Those who seem too busy• Those who already seem to 'have it all'.• Those who make more money than you do. (at least, at the moment!)• Those who have a home nicer than yours
Intimidating, confident demeanorYou will be so proud of yourself. It doesn't matter what the response it, but always remember this, deepdown, she is still a woman, wife, or mother with the same needs as the rest of us. She wants to feelimportant, to feel that you think she is pretty or nice enough to ask to be pampered. She might secretlybe harboring the thought with her job and life, "Is this all there is?" You never know!!! What have you gotto lose by talking to those on your "chicken list"????
TEACH THISWhen you get a new person on your team, help them ask "up" for hostesses and help them sponsor "up"with their first team member -- and try their "chicken list" -- this may be one of the most importantthings you teach to your team. Remember, we don't necessarily look for women who need Mary Kay - welook for women who Mary Kay needs!! People who are 'needy' are not able to enrich others' lives, becausethey use their energy and focus on themselves at this point in their lives, but women who have it togetherare ready to reach out to others because they don't have to deal with money and confidence issues. Weneed to stretch up to women with the desire and means...and they are out there for each of us - they arearound us every day!! Your new team members, too, need a "chicken list". Do it. Teach it.
JUST REMEMBER...YOU ARE N OT A CHI CKEN! YOU'RE A SUP ERSTAR!! YOU'VE GOT TO BEELIEVE
