(Joh 6:59-65) These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear

it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this

offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the

spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me,

except it were given unto him of my Father.

(Joh 6:66-71) From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more

with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter

answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we

believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered

them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should

betray him, being one of the twelve.

E. This dissension cause them to go back to their way of

life

Page 16: Separating the men from the Boys

(2Pe 2:20-22) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world

through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again

entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the

way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit

again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Page 17: Separating the men from the Boys

(1Jn 2:19) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have

continued with us: but they went out, that they might be

made manifest that they were not all of us.

(Heb 10:38) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any

man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Page 18: Separating the men from the Boys

(Luk 9:57-62) And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus

said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And he

said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my

father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also

said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at

my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the

plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Vs. 67-69

Page 20: Separating the men from the Boys

(Joh 6:67-69) Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom

shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son

of the living God.

Page 21: Separating the men from the Boys

(Mat 7:13-14) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is

the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few

there be that find it.

(Luk 9:57-62) And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus

III. The Dedication of the unbeliever

Vs. 70-71

Page 24: Separating the men from the Boys

(Joh 6:70-71) Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas

Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him,

being one of the twelve.

Page 25: Separating the men from the Boys

(Mat 7:20-23) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the

kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we

not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew

you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
