ArgianoANDRÈ ESTEVES

Toscana, Montalcino

THE WINERY

From the time of Ancient Rome to the present day, the Argiano estate has made the history of the territory of Montalcino, becoming one of its most prestigious and traditional elements, a valuable ambassador for its wines in the world and proud to have contributed to the birth of the Brunello Consortium. The history of Argiano took an about-turn while it was owned by Siena’s noble Pecci family, with the construction between 1581 and 1596 of the splendid villa, an example of 16th century aristocratic residential architecture. Thanks also to the construction of the cellar, it was during those same years that Argiano developed its winemaking vocation. The great Italian poet Giosuè Carducci wrote a verse at the time saying “nella quale asprezza mi tersi col vin d’Argiano, ilquale è molto buono…” (in the harshness of which I cleansed myself with Argiano wine, which really is good…).The history of Argiano continues to be written day by day and, thanks to the energy of the new owners, is ready to open an important new chapter. The love for this land guides the estate development project, a plan conceived to further enhance the excellence of the “terroir” of Argiano and convey levels of taste and quality to the wine which have never been reached before.

NON CONFUNDITUR – TOSCANA IGT

‘Non Confunditur’ is a Latin term that means unique, unmistakable. We christened this wine Non Confunditur as a tribute to Argiano’s prestigious and glorious past. Non Confunditur is the product of the unique combination of Tuscan and French grapes. Since 2002, NC has earned its place alongside the finest Tuscan blends.NC is a wine with a decisive, full-bodied character, smooth tannins and a persistent finish. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese reveals an exciting potency, with the innate gentleness of Merlot creating a bridge between the evident earthiness of Sangiovese, the aromatic blackcurrant flavour of Cabernet and the warm red berries of Syrah. The result is a generous, rounded red wine, destined for short to medium ageing, with delicious aromas of currants and generous fruit flavours, versatile enough to develop in greater depth during long months in the bottle.

TECHNICAL SHEETProduction zone: Montalcino.Grape Varieties: Blend of international grapes.Vinification: Grapes gathered by hand in the vineyard, de-stammed but not crushed. Aged in French barrels as well as steel tanks.Structure and Food Pairing: Smoothly structured, with elegant tannins, it goes well with a large variety of food.

Drei DonàENRICO DREI DONA’

Emilia Romagna, Predappio

THE WINERY

The Drei Donà Estate is nestled in the rolling Romagna hills. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the property has belonged to the Drei Donà counts.

Most of the 23 hectares of vineyards are planted with Sangiovese grapes, which were indigenous to the property. These old vines have been studied, selected and propagated to maintain La Palazza's original clones.

The philosophy is extremely strict: the wines produced are the result of exacting standards first in the vineyard, and then in the cellar. In this way, we start with the highest quality grapes, and ferment and age them in our modern cellars to produce a wine that is a true expression of the Massa di Vecchiazzano Romagnan "terroir".

Tenuta la Palazza is universally recognized as a reference for Sangiovese, which finds its most typical expression here.

Drei Dona Società Agricola is part of the Committee “GrandiCru d'Italia”, which contains the most important wine producers in Italy.

AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) said about Drei Donà: “They have changed the world’s image of Romagna.” and nominated Drei Donà for the 2009 Oscar del Vino as best Winery in Italy. On 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Drei Donà is one of the TOP 100 Italian Producers according to Wine Spectator

MartinettiFRANCO M. MARTINETTI

Piemonte, Torino

THE WINERY

Both as grower and taster, Franco M. Martinetti has always approached wine with patience, knowledge and care. Choosing the ideal variety based on terrain, exposure and age; supervising pruning and thinning bunches in the vineyard; setting the date to begin the harvest; selecting the grapes and proper periods for fermentation, and ageing in casks and bottles. Each stage is carefully supervised, because every detail is fundamental to anyone who aspires to perfection. This constant search for quality is the fruit of real passion, a passion handed down to his sons Guido and Michele who have for some time worked alongside their father at the winery, Guido in oenology and Michele in sales.Franco Maria Martinetti is a major actor in the international wine and food scene, a gentleman from another time, equally at home among his vineyards in Piemonte as well as with world-famous chefs or at major wineries and important institutions in the sector worldwide. The only Italian to become a member of the Académie du Vin de France, he has been president of the AcadémieInternationale du Vin since 2003.

MARASCO - BAROLO DOCG

The intense and yet delicate purple colour of the still very young wine doesn’t allow for any of the softer tones, hinting at time that has yet to go by.In the nose, roses and violets alternate, barely revealing promising fragrances yet to unravel. On the palate, the wine is warm as a woman who’s just made love: opulent and sensual. Morello cherries reveal themselves in the long and bewitching finish, and the choice of the name becomes evident. Marasco confirm that Barolo is the wine of the Kings and the King of wines.
