The Arizona Public Health Association is pleased to announce our Fall 2016 Conference: “Planning for a 21st Century State of Wellness”. Arizona faces a variety of complex environmental and social determinants of health that are resulting in an epidemic of chronic illness, growing health inequities, and rising healthcare costs.

Developing effective strategies to reverse the tide requires us to think differently about how we approach public health policy by advancing trans-disciplinary and inter-sectoral interventions. Join us as we look, hear, and learn about successful approaches that are making a real difference across the country and at the state and local level in Arizona:

Learn from other cities – San Diego, Omaha andIndianapolis - that have successfully connected multi-sector partners to take action toward improving thehealth of their residents, lessons learned and how theymeasure results.

Hear about the Healthy Communities in Arizonainitiative being championed by Vitalyst HealthFoundation in 2017 and how you can be a part of thisimportant work.

Look through the cross-cutting lens as ArizonaDepartment of Health Services and three countyhealth departments (Maricopa County, YavapaiCounty and Yuma County) discuss their cross-cuttingstrategies and how they fit into the bigger picture ofimproving health in Arizona.

AzPHA Annual Meeting – Over lunch we will conduct a brief business meeting for the Arizona Public Health Association, the independent voice of public health in Arizona. At the meeting, we will be unveiling our new initiatives that will add greater value to our members.

Awards Dinner – Join us as we celebrate and honor individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to public health in Arizona. Tickets sold separately.

Please join us for this great opportunity to network with your peers, participate in the conversation and ultimately promote the important work of public health in Arizona!
