SINGAPORE — With 20 more days to go before the 28th SEA Gamesofficially opens, a total of 2,482 volunteers today (May 16) broke theSingapore record for the largest human formation of a numerical at theNational Stadium.

countdown to one day before the games.

Volunteers at the SEA Games, collectively called Team NILA, will be clad in purple tocreate “a common identity... forge a sense of belonging and instill a sense of pride”among sports volunteers, said the Singapore Southeast Asian Games OrganisingCommittee (SINGSOC).

Tickets to the 28th SEA Games Closing Ceremony were also given out to all thevolunteers who were present today. “I am certainly excited to be a part of the Games,”Mr Vincent Fong, a dignitary photographer volunteer, said. “... it’s great that thevolunteers have been given tickets to catch the Closing Ceremony as a token ofappreciation for our efforts.”
