EFFICIENCY AND LONG LIFEEvery Econ SY Series actuator is built to provide long end efficient service with minimum maintenance. The design, engineering and materials used in their construction ensure optimum performance even in the harshest environments.

SY Series actuators are available with symmetric yokes. Symmetric yokes provide more constant torque throughout at both the break points and end positions.

Chromium plated alloy steel guide bar contained within the center body minimizes the transverse forces of the scotch and yoke mechanism and ensures proper alignment of the piston rod.

Enclosed weatherproof center body and end caps sealed with O-Rings protect the actuator against ingress water.

Econ’s SY Series of actuators are provided with bidirectional pinion travel stops. Bidirectional travels stops allow for ±10° travel adjustment between 80° to 100°. These travel stops help to absorb impact loads associated with recommended travels speeds and prolong valve seat integrity.

FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATIONSSY Series actuators are manufactured in many different combinations of actuator sizes, cylinder diameters, and designs. Both the double acting (DA) or spring return (SR) designs are available for installation on ¼ turn valves such as ball, butterfly and plug valves. SY actuators are designed for use over a wide range of pressures or temperatures.

The SY actuator is a modular design. A pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder can be attached to either side or both sides. With a large stock of finished and semi-finished components always available, actuators can be assembled and supplied with very fast and reliable deliveries.

AVAILABLE OPTIONSManual OverridesThe manual override is an important requirement for many valve/actuator applications. In case that air fails, the user will be able to open or close the valve manually.

Econ has a variety of override options available to meet any requirement. Available options include jackscrew or hydraulic manual override. We also offer solutions in Tank Reservoir Systems and Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs.)

Automated PackagesEcon has the capability to integrate our actuators in a complete pneumatic and hydraulic control system to cover all the needs that valve automation requirements. Our engineers have a deep knowledge of controls and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Passive Fire ProtectionPassive fire protection is a key issue in the safety of hydrocarbon process plants. It is considered a reliable method to reduce plant fire risks. For this matter, Econ actuators can be customized to withstand exposure to fire and very high temperatures. A full range of fire proof systems is available, including protective jackets, intumescent coatings and stainless steel enclosure systems. Meets UL1709 requirements.

PNEUMATIC CYLINDER

PNEUMATIC CYLINDERThe inner surface of cylinder is coated with Sintered Teflon to reduce friction.

PISTONS SEALSDouble sealing, with O-Ring and dynamic ring to prevent metal to metal contact between the piston and the cylinder.

INTERNAL BODY PARTS

Dual roller type pinion reduces the friction between the yoke arm and pin, minimizing the wear.

Sintered Teflon metallic bearings protect the sliding and rotating components, suitable for either dry or lubricated working conditions.

PTFE thrust bar prevents yoke pin axial movement, transferring axial loads directly to the drive module case.

Guide block connects the piston rod with the pinion, and compensates for side load deflection thereby reducing wear on rod, bearings and seals.
