Welcome Our School Liaison Programme offers information about the wide range of courses and training opportunities available to young people through a varied and inclusive programme, promoting interactive engagement at all levels. We hope that by doing so we supplement your Careers Education Programme. We aim to help your young people discover and effectively choose a suitable and successful progression pathway in a competitive jobs market. Our programme focuses on inspiring students and providing them with the information that they need to know to progress. We are confident that the programme will meet your requirements and those of your students.

If you would like to discuss how we can assist you with your Careers Education Programme and support your activities at either post-16 then please get in touch. We can attend careers events, parents evenings, drop-in sessions and assemblies.

PresentationsWe can deliver a range of talks to support careers guidance and students looking at their further education option in schools. These can either be hosted at Lincoln College or at your school and fit in either assembly or lesson time.

Taster VisitsThese fun days are for Year 8-11 students who want to find out about college and a particular course. They are led by our academic staff and are subject specific, they offer practical and theory sessions challenging students to learn more about subjects that interest them.

World of Work Roadshows Roadshows are a great way of getting your pupils to think about their career plans in a fun and relaxed manner. A Roadshow allows your students to spend an hour or two trying out a variety of vocational subjects in timed challenges as well as finding out about the industry and the course.

Campus ToursWe also offer bespoke tours to anybody that wishes to take a look around the College and find out more about what we have to offer. This can work well if you have students who need a little more one to one time or a group of students who have specific interests in the areas we offer.

Drop-in Lunchtime SessionsTime pressured? Help your students to get the information they need quickly andefficiently and ease nerves about post-16 decisions. A lunch–time drop-in can be for general queries as well as students gaining one to one practical guidance on filling in college application forms, entry requirements and interviews techniques. Often this reduces the one to one queries for teachers.

Mock InterviewsWe can provide a member of staff to conduct interviews as part of your Mock Interview Days. All staff attending are fully trained to conduct interviews and will provide feedback and careers advice for students as part of their attendance.

ApprenticeshipsApprenticeships are simple. Young people start working straight away and study towards a qualification on-the-job. As an apprentice you’ll either go into college to do your qualification training, or an assessor will be sent into your workplace to do it there.

Apprenticeships are great for young people who want to get straight into the workplace and start earning some money whilst they build up the qualifications they need for their career. It is possible for employers to support young people to train to the highest degree-level qualifications through apprenticeships.

Open Days and VisitsWe host a number of Open Evenings throughout the year, but in particular there are many in the Autumn term. Dates for 2017/2018 are:

Attending our early Open Day events will help your students gain an idea of career areas open to them and aid them when making applications to Sixth Form and College early on in the Autumn term. Please encourage young people to come a number of times as their interests in academic and vocational pathways develops so that they can research all of their interest areas before making applications.
