We all know that Warrington is a fantastic place to live, work and study, but recent research compiled by the Think Tank, Centre for Cities, has revealed that Warrington is in fact one of theUK’s greatest economic success stories of the 20th Century. The long-term investment in thetown’s transport links, homes and education infrastructure has encouraged more and more peopleto move to Warrington from neighbouring cities and, as the town has expanded, it has becomeeven more attractive as a business location. Warrington now punches well above its weight interms of the number of national companies headquartered in the town and in some sectors of theeconomy is fast becoming a UK centre of excellence.

As a result, there is increasing demand for employees with the practical skills needed in these sectors. Employers are increasingly aware that students who have chosen a vocational route areoften better equipped for work than those who have gone to University and more and more companies are looking to recruit directly from College or to take on Apprentices.
