Deacon Pete Hernandez is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. His home parish is Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, in Harlingen, TX. After high school, Deacon Pete attended the University of Texas Pan-America, where he studied biology. After three years at UTPA, he decided to apply for the Diocese of Brownsville. He was accepted into the diocese as a seminarian. In 2012, the bishop of Brownsville sent Deacon Pete to Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas. He studied at the University of Dallas, and graduated with a bachelor’s in Philosophy and Letters. Now, Deacon Pete continues his formation and studies at St. Mary’s Seminary, in Houston.

El diácono Pedro Hernandez es nativo del Valle. Su parroquia es la Inmaculado Corazón de María, en Harlingen, TX. Después de la preparatoria, el Diácono Pedro fue a la Universidad de Texas Pan-America, donde estudió biología. Después de tres años en UTPA, decidió aplicar con la Diócesis de Brownsville.

Fue aceptado en la diócesis como seminarista. En el 2012, el obispo de Brownsville envió al diácono Pedro al seminario de Holy Trinity en Dallas. Él estudió en la Universidad de Dallas y se graduó con una licenciatura en filosofía. Ahora, el Diácono Pedro continúa su formación y estudios en el seminario de St. Mary’s en Houston.

The Seekers Group of our Parish would like to promote a Culture of Vocations and start a new tradition at our Parish. Every first Weekend of the month we will setup a table in the Narthex of the church and would like to invite you to pick up a piece of paper which has the name of a religious/seminarian on your way

out. We would ask you to take that name home to your family and pray for this person for the week. The religious/seminarians need our prayers to strengthen them in their journey. Also please continue to pray for Vocations to the priesthood and to the religious life especially from our Parish St. Patrick. We continue to invite the parish to come out and join a communal prayer on First Friday’s of the month when we get together and pray to our Lord for Religious Vocations. Thank
