FEE WAIVER POLICYIt is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status.Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) August 6-8 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions.Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services.

AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY

There are NO EXCEPTIONS

to the Age Control Dates for ANY sport.

No child will be allowed to play out of

his or her age category.

OUT OF COUNTY POLICYAll the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for programs will be required to pay an additional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.

REFUND POLICYRefunds will not be issued for withdrawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment requirements set by the depart-ment, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the regis-trant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 service charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Flag FootballThe SBCPRD Flag Football Program provides youth the opportunity to learn the basic rules and fundamentals of the game in a noncompetitive environment. All flag football players receive a team jersey and participate in practices and games.

Tackle Football--Child must be present at registration for weighing and fitting of equipment.Two tackle football leagues are offered by SBCPRD. The Minor Tackle League builds on the fundamentals learned in the flag leagues by introducing the basic skills of tackle football. Volunteer coaches focus on teaching basic techniques that a player will use in the Minor Tackle League and in the future. The Midget Tackle League is for 11 and 12 year olds and introduces players to the finer points of football. Punt, Pass & Kick ContestThe Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick will be held September 27 between 10am - Noon at Mill Creek Regional Park. For ages 6 to 15 (as of Dec 31, 2014). Boys and girls compete separately. FREE COMPETITION. SIGN UP AT THE EVENT.

Football Bowl GamesEach league will have end of season bowl games at Mill Creek Regional Park. Flag Football Games will be held October 23 and Tackle Football Games will be held on October 28. 2 CHEERLEADING & GOLF

CheerleadingRecreation cheerleading is a wonderful recreation program for new and experienced cheerleaders, ages 4-12 years old. Learn cooperation, self confidence, respect, great friendships and all of the important skills of cheerleading. 2014 Cheer CompetitionMonday, October 27 7 PM Statesboro High School Gym

Minor and Midget League Cheerleaders will show off their moves from the foot-ball season in one final competition. We will be rewarding teams based on their

attendance throughout the season and will have first and second place winners in the minor and midget divisions for best performance at the competition. Teams will be judged on showmanship, cheer technique, appearance, and overall impression. Each team will be required to perform a cheer and a dance. **All Pee Wee League

cheerleaders will perform an exhibition during the competition.

Junior Golf SchoolsLocal PGA professionals teach the fundamentals of the game including full swing, short game, rules and etiquette. These schools are held at Hackers Golf Park for ages 5 to 18.Golf clubs are provided at no extra cost. SoccerThe SBCPRD Recreational Soccer League exists to provide youth the opportunity to participate in a fun, organized and safe environment. Emphasis is placed on the enjoyment of playing soccer while learning basic skills of the game. Fall soccer season runs August through October. All leagues are co-ed and meet two to three times per week.

Elks Soccer Shootout CompetitionThe Elks Soccer Shootout will be held September 27 between 10 am - Noon at Mill Creek Regional Park. For ages 6 to 13 (age as of August 1, 2014). Boys and girls compete separately.FREE COMPETITION. SIGN UP AT THE EVENT.

Statesboro Impact Soccer Skills ClinicDesigned to focus on individual skills. Players will work on foot skills that will improve dribbling and ball control through skill drills and fun activities. This clinic is designed to be a compliment to participation in Rec League Soccer. For boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Cost is $35.

Clinic will meet on Mondays at th Mill Creek Tennis Complex.September 15, September 29, October 6, October 13, October 20 and October 27Ages 7-10 will meet from 6 - 7 p.m. ; Ages 11-14 will meet from 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.

Adult AthleticsOur programs are never just for kids! We offer several team sports for adults throughout the year. Teams are formed by managers who sign them up at the Manager’s Meeting at the Honey Bowen Building on the dates listed below. There is a team fee that will be discussed at the Meeting. Around the Horn Competitive Baseball/Softball

These teams are designed to offer youth in the Bulloch County and surrounding area the opportunity for more competitive play in addition to regular league play in the Spring. Tryout dates are listed below--there is no tryout fee.

The fee for participating on an Around the Horn Team will be $400. The fee is non-refundable except in extenuating circumstances determined by the Superintendent of Athletics. For more information, call Dadrian at 764-5637.

FlowRider Competition—Sunday, August 10 4 pm Show your skills on the Splash in the Boro FlowRider! This competition is held for Standup FlowBoarders, Beginner and Advanced Body Boarding. Participants must be at least 42-inches tall to Body Board and 52-inches tall to FlowBoard. Event registra-tion will be held at Splash in the Boro anytime prior to the event. Registration is $10 per participant. You may enter both FlowBoard and Body Board events for an addi-tional $5. A variety of games and activities will be in the festival area by the large pavilion. Trick or Treat at Mill Creek—October 31: 5 - 8 pmDo you want a safe and fun way to spend Halloween? We have the perfect event for all kids and parents! Mill Creek Park is the place for lots of candy and entertainment! Children can participate in costume contest, and trick or treat at numerous candy stops. Sponsored by All-tel, Coca-Cola, Downtown Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, WingMaxx, Northland Cable, and Zaxby’s. GSU International Festival—Saturday, November 15: 10 am - 4 pm Held at Mill Creek Regional Park, this festival will feature a Parade of Countries, a Global Village representing 14 countries, an International Bazaar, International Culinary Delights, and the World Stage featuring entertainment.

Santa’s Calling—December 2-4: 4:30-7:30 p.m.Children ages 7 and under can receive a personalized phone call or letter from San-ta! Stop by the Honey Bowen Building on Fair Road or visit www.bullochrec.com to complete a form by November 26. Children will also receive forms at Bulloch County Public Schools.

“Our Time”After school care until 6 p.m., “Our Time” offers a structured, supervised after school program for students in the Bulloch County

School System, Pre-K through 5th grade.

2014-2015 School Yr. Reg Fee: $25 2 Days a Week Care - $50/2-week session5 Days a Week Care - $80/2-week session

Costs are per child.

R.E.C.E.SAfter school care until 4 p.m., Recreation Education Care Every School Day (RECES) is available Monday through Friday begin-ning at 2:30 p.m.

SpecialistsSBCPRD strives to provide quality individualized care for children with dis-abilities based on the specific needs of the child. The “Specialists” program is an inclusive program, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrichment activities which allow children with disabilities to par-ticipate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommo-date special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.

Camp Adventure DaysThe Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:15 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for hol-idays and in-service days. This camp is held at the former Julia P Bryant El-ementary School on Stockyard Road in Statesboro. The upcoming full days include the following dates:

13HORSEBACK RIDING PROGRAMS & PARTIES

This program is designed for youth and adults who have been diagnosed with an emotional,

physical, or cognitive disability. Experience outdoor fun and recreation while using the horse as a tool to improve posture, self-esteem, balance, coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Memorial Park on Lakeview Road in 4-week sessions.

Horseback Riding LessonsLessons are for beginner to intermediate levels. Ages 5 - 18 (as of September 1, 2014) years old. Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Interested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons such as; patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably pants or jeans and closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes). August 18-September 26 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session October 6-November 14 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session

(Rider chooses 1 day a week for a 45-minute time slot between the hours of 3 and 8 pm)
