Name:  Missouri Cattleman Scholarship Program

Amount:  $1,000Deadline:  September 2017Applicants must be a Missouri resident and a current paid member of the Missouri Junior Cattleman’s Association or the parent/legal guardian must be a current paid member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Association. Students must meet the following requirements: 2.5 GPA or better, submit three (3) letters of recommendation, submit a transcript, and demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experience. Preference may be given to students who plan to attend a Missouri college or university & have financial need. Preference also given to those planning to major in an Agriculture field, Biochemistry, Food Science, and Nutrition and Plant Science. Name: Prudential Spirit of Community Awards (open to grades 9-12)Amount: State Winner-$1,000 and all expense paid trip to Washington D.C., National Winner-$5,000Deadline: September 26, 2017Created to recognize students who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. When it asks for a name to send your application to please send it to Mrs. Howren at [email protected]. Students apply online at spirit.prudential.com . Savannah HS is allowed to send 1 student to compete against other applicants in the state. You will be notified if your application is selected.

AES offers scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education. Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. Students are not required to take engineering courses to be eligible for this scholarship. The student will submit an essay of 500-1,000 words in answer to the topic/question listed on the website. Essays must be submitted to the following email address: [email protected]. There is no application packet and student must include their full name, name of high school, and plans for next year. The topic for the essay can be found online at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm.

Seniors who apply must have financial need ($55,000 or less in family income), have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity, at least a 2.0 GPA, strength of character and a desire to contribute to society. Must be a graduating senior with a commitment to pursuing a bachelor's degree and a US citizen. Students will need to provide their school counselor's email address in order for their application to be certified.  An email address will also need to be provided for the individual who is completing the "Support and Verification" form for you.  A transcript and a copy of the front page of your parent/guardian's 2016 individual federal tax return must be provided as well.  Applications available online at https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/about-our-scholarship-programs/

Name:  Cotillion for AchievementAmount:  $900-1800 (16 students chosen) Deadline:  October 2017There is an information meeting about this scholarship held during the school day. Check the Counseling Center Announcements for this date. Students attending school in Andrew and Buchanan County that demonstrate high academic achievements, involvement in school activities and community service, plus high moral and ethical standards should apply. An ACT or SAT score is required.  If selected as a Cotillion finalist, the student will need to attend "Adventures for Achievement" sessions, participate in the final interview, as well as attend the Cotillion Ball in February (a formal event). Please see Mrs. Howren for help with this as it is very detailed-oriented.

Name:  Coca-Cola Scholars ProgramAmount:  $20,000 (150 given)Deadline:  October 2017This is a merit-based program (minimum 3.0 GPA to apply). Students are evaluated on leadership, community and extracurricular activities; academic achievement and employment. The first application is a preliminary online application and does not require an essay or transcript. Students will be notified by mid-November if they are a semifinalist and will be asked to provide more documentation at that point. Amount:  $12,000Deadline:  October 2017Highly competitive scholarship awarded to 15 students and is renewable with a 3.25 GPA. Eligibility for this scholarship is met by the following criteria: 1.) must be in the upper 10% of graduating class after six (6) semesters OR have a GPA of 3.75; 2.) Must take the ACT (or SAT) by October and receive a score of 31 or better; 3.) Have strong leadership skills through school and community activities; and 4.) Resident of Missouri. Must apply for admission online apply.mst.edu and submit an official transcript (by October 15th is recommended to allow for processing time). The scholarship application is only available online and cannot be completed until your paperwork for admissions is received. Applicants must also submit a 750-word essay (topic provided) and should follow the instructions on the website below. Name:            University of Arkansas-New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition ScholarshipAmount:         Reduced rate on out of state tuitionDeadline:        October 2017 Entering freshmen with a 3.60 or higher cumulative GPA and a 30 or higher ACT will receive a New Arkansan NRTA that pays 90% of the difference between the in-state and out-of-state tuition. Entering freshmen with a 3.4 cumulative GPA and a 28 or higher ACT (1090 SAT combined math and critical reading) will receive the New Arkansan NRTA that pays 80% of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. Students must have the application, ACT Scores, and transcript sent to the admissions office by November 1. Name: International PEO Star Scholarship ProgramAmount: $1,200Deadline: October 2017The Savannah Chapter PEO is able to send 1 female to compete for the $1,200 scholarship. The chapter is looking for a female student who is a leader, scholar, volunteer, participated in mission or service trips/community service, and involved in extracurricular activities. An interview will be required. If interested, please submit your activities list to the Counseling Center.

Name: Hagan Scholarship FoundationAmount: Up to $5,000 (renewable)Deadline: November 2017Created to help students in rural communities attend college. Students must have 3.5 GPA and at least 23 ACT, must apply for the FAFSA and have an EFC of less than $7500, and must work at least 240 hours a year. Application can be found online at www.hsfmo.org.

Name:  John T. Belcher Scholarship Program (MSBA)Amount:  $750-1,500Deadline:  November 2017 Savannah may only nominate one student and the board of education will make the final selection as to who the district winner is. THE DEADLINE IS IN NOVEMBER, NOT JANUARY (like the website indicates). You may need to attach a separate sheet that includes your extracurricular activities, awards, etc. as there is not much room on the application to list activities. An essay is required with the topic provided on the application.

Name:  UMKC Trustees Scholar ProgramAmount:  Full Tuition, Room & BoardDeadline:  November 2017Students must meet two of the three following academic criteria: ACT of 30 or higher, ranked in top 5% of class, minimum GPA of 3.5 in the 17-class core curriculum. Must also enroll as a full-time student and commit to living on campus for 2 years. In addition, candidates are evaluated on their community and/or school involvement as well as leadership abilities.  Must be fully admitted to UMKC before December 1st. Students applying for the 6-year med program, school of pharmacy (including pre-pharmacy), and architectural studies are not eligible for this scholarship. Name:  MU Scholars AwardAmount:  $10,000Deadline:  November 2017Students must have at least 33 ACT and a strong academic record. ACT or SAT scores must be sent directly to MU from either ACT or the College Board. MU can no longer take test scores from high school transcripts. Eligible students must apply for admission online and earn required test score by Dec. 1st. The office of admissions will contact qualified applicants by the 3rd week in December. The applicants will be asked to submit a resume and essay. A committee will review completed and applications and make the final selections based upon credentials and supplementary materials. 35 scholarships will be awarded. Name:  MU Freshmen Automatic/Competitive ScholarshipsAmount:  VariesDeadline:  November 2017The University of Missouri offers several scholarships for which students are considered automatically when they are admitted to MU. Other MU scholarships require the students to apply using the Annual Scholarship Application. Name:  Missouri S&T Freshman Merit-based ScholarshipsAmount:  VariesDeadline:  November 2017Scholarships are based on ACT scores and GPA. These scholarships only require an application for admission. Check online at http://sfa.mst.edu/scholarships/freshman/ for criteria. The priority deadline is December 1st. Students planning to attend Missouri S&T are strongly encouraged to meet the priority deadline. The scholarship deadline for departmental scholarships is February 1st. Name:  Truman State Freshman ScholarshipsAmount:  VariesDeadline:  November 2017Students wishing to be considered for all scholarships and financial aid programs are strongly encouraged to apply for admission and submit a resume/activities list by December 1. Truman has no separate scholarship application, unless otherwise noted. SELECTION CRITERIA - Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership.SELECTION PROCESS - A rigorous application review includes analysis of grades, standardized test scores, participation in available advanced courses, student essays, letters of recommendation, and family finances. Each year 30-40 students will be selected.

This highly competitive scholarship includes:

Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school Ability to pursue any area of study Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the

college student experience

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - At a minimum, applicants must:

Plan to graduate from a US high school in spring 2018 Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2018 Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above SAT combined critical reading and math score of 1200 (based on the old SAT scores) or above

Name: Generation Google ScholarshipAmount: $10,000Deadline: November 2017The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive 10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or 5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2018-2019 school year. As part of the scholarship, current high school seniors who are entering their first year of university in 2018-2019 will be required to attend Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) in the summer of 2017. Requirements:  be a HS senior, intend to enroll as a full-time student at a university, intend to major in computer sciences or computer engineering, exemplify leadership and passion for technology, strong record of academic achievement, be a student in an underrepresented group in computer science (Hispanic, African American, American Indian, Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander).   APPLICATION FOUND HERE

Name: Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Amount: $2,000-15,000Deadline: December 2017The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are non-renewable scholarships created to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative. The scholarships are valued between $2,000 and $15,000. The NFIB Young Entrepreneur program was established to raise awareness among the nation’s youth of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are open to any graduating high school senior who owns and operates his/her own small business. Additionally, the student must enter their freshman year at an accredited two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute during the Fall 2016. Name:  Gates Millennium ScholarsAmount:  Covers unmet needDeadline:  December 2017Aimed toward African Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, American Indians/Alaskan Natives, and Hispanic Americans, who are US citizens or a U.S. permanent resident, planning on attending a college/university in the fall. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3, be accepted into an accredited college/university, meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (demonstrate significant financial need), participated in community service and leadership in activities. The FAFSA must be completed and you are encouraged to complete it by February 1st. A complete application consists of: 1. Student Application (Nominee Personal Information Form); 2. Educator's evaluation of the student's academic record (Nominator Form); 3. Evaluation of the student's community service and leadership activities (Recommender Form). Name:  Elks Scholarship - "Most Valuable Student"Amount:  $4,000-50,000Deadline:  December 2017This award is given on a point system based on ACT score, verified financial need, evidence of school and community leadership skills, academics, extracurricular activities, recommendations and essay. The organization, completeness, and neatness of the application are also important. Applicants may submit up to 10 exhibits of achievement in academics, athletics, dramatics, leadership, community service, etc. (a resume/activity list is NOT an exhibit). An application will be emailed to the student from [email protected]. Students need to take the ACT before November. Your application must be in a folder with inside pockets and clasps.  Everything, except items in sealed envelopes, should be three-hole punched and placed in the clasps of the folder. Applicants must rank in the top 10% of their class and must be citizens of the United States, and Missouri residents. They must attend a Missouri college/university EXCEPT for the Roberta Capps Scholarship, whose recipient may attend the college or university of his/her choice. Four letters of recommendation (1 from principal or counselor, 2 from teachers, 1 from outside source) Students can apply by completing the MSSDAR Application and Financial Need forms below. Name: Arthur & Berdena King Eagle Scout ScholarshipAmount: $4,000-10,000Deadline: December 2017Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application.   (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.)   The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted.  College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship.  Three cash scholarship awards are given: As the National First Place winner - $10,000.00; Runner-up - $6,000.00; 2nd runner-up - $4,000.00.  You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $10,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout.  Entrants need to complete only one application -- the one for the chapter competition.  If it is a winner it is then used for the state competition, and if it is a winner again it is used for the national competition.  For application and other details:  http://www.sar.org/Youth/Eagle_Scout

Name: Conservation Foundation of MO ScholarshipAmount: $1,000 (5 given) Deadline: December 2017 The Foundation’s Ed Stegner Natural Resource Scholarships were established to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation and soil and water conservation. Applicants must be Missouri residents from any county or city in the state who are or plan to be enrolled as an undergraduate at a Missouri college or university in the chosen discipline of study.  Preference will be given to individuals with a demonstrated financial need.  Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by December 31. To make application for a scholarship you must complete and submit this form to the Conservation Foundation of Missouri Charitable Trust, 728 W. Name:  AXA Achievement ScholarshipAmount:  $10,000 (52 given, one from each state) Top Award 10-$15,000Deadline:  December 2017 (or the first 10,000 applications submitted online--whichever comes first)Any student can apply who has been active in their community/workplace who also have the following qualities: drive, ambition, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self and others, and ability to succeed in college. All applications are completed online and only the first 10,000 will be accepted.  Be sure to apply early in order to assure the application is accepted. Name:  Burger King ScholarsAmount:  $1,000 (multiple given) Deadline:  December 2017Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be involved in community and school activities, and plan to enroll at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. Applicant does not have to be an employee of Burger King to apply.  Transcripts can be uploaded to your online application - see Mrs. Howren for assistance with this. Name: Missouri Corn ScholarshipAmount: $7,500Amount: December 2017Awarded to Missouri residents from a Missouri farm or rural area who plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college in the state of Missouri and major in agronomy or related field. Missouri State University has multiple automatic and competitive scholarships available to incoming freshman.  In most cases, the application for admission must be submitted by December 1 in order to be considered for these scholarships.  There is a variety of requirements and some require a separate

Name:  Mensa Scholarship Essay ContestAmount:  VariesDeadline:  January 2018Foundation scholarships are awarded on the basis of an essay of no more than 550 words that describes the applicant’s career, vocational, or academic goals. The general awards are unrestricted as to age, race, gender, level of post-secondary education, grade point average and financial need. It is NOT necessary that the applicant be a member of Mensa. Name: KLL Memorial ScholarshipAmount: $2,000 (renewable)Deadline: January 2018For students who have lost a parent to cancer. Students who apply must attend 2 or 4-year college, have an interest in education, arts, environment, math or science and show involvement in the community, church, school or other non-curricular activity. Name:  National Multiple Sclerosis SocietyAmount:  $1,000-3,000Deadline:  January 2018Current high school seniors or a high school graduate (including students who have earned their GED certificate) of any age who live with MS or have a parent living with MS and will be attending an accredited post-secondary school for the first time. The application is online and all supporting documents must be mailed. Supporting documents include verification of diagnosis, transcript, and at least one recommendation letter. This scholarship asks for a lot of information so please allow for plenty of time. The online application and more information is available at http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx.

Name: Elks Scholarship-Legacy AwardAmount: $1,000Deadline: January 2018Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2014, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2014, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2018. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. If your parent and grandparent are both Elk members, you should apply through your parent’s Elks Lodge. The Selection Committee judges applications based on the following values: knowledge, charity, community, and integrity. Applicants must take the ACT by December 2017. Three scholarships are offered through the Masonic Scholarship Fund and students must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to apply. All documents needed to apply for the scholarship in on the application. Ryan completed the building trades program at Hillyard Technical Center, and went on to get a degree in construction. Preference for this award will be given to a student seeking a career in construction OR engineering. The award recipient will be chosen by the Consolver family.  Family income and grade point average is not a consideration for this scholarship.
