Pastoral Message “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them: “I am the bread of life.” (Jn 6:35) Some of the people who surrounded Jesus and listened to his discourse on the bread of life said to him “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus in his generosity granted them this wish. It is in the Eucharist that Jesus makes this promise a reality, it is in the Eucharist that Je-sus gives us his body and blood as food, so we do not hunger or thirst. Whenever we come to Mass, let us make this prayer our own, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Every Sunday, and every day, when we celebrate the Eucharist we always have the help of volunteers, min-isters, the choir and ushers; they make our celebrations more solemn and beautiful. One of those services in the Eucharist is that of the Altar Servers. Today I want to highlight the service or our children as altar servers. What would become of the priest without the help of his altar servers?? So, thanks to each one of them. On Tuesday, Pope Francis met in St. Peter’s Square in Rome with more than 60,000 altar servers from 18 coun-tries. They arrived in Rome to participate in a pilgrimage organized by the International Association of Altar Serv-ers “Coetus Internationalis Ministratium.” This meeting is nothing new. Pope Francis has already met with them in the past. He recommended them to take advantage of their proximity to Jesus in the liturgical cele-brations, “The proximity and familiarity with Jesus serv-ing the altar during the Eucharist also becomes an oppor-tunity to open up to others, to walk together, to set goals and find the strength to reach them” (Pope Francis, Au-gust 4, 2015). Thanks to our Altar Servers who every Sunday are wit-nesses of the miracle of the Eucharist with joy and enthu-siasm. God willing that with the help of their parents they never lose that desire to serve and their admiration for the Eucharistic miracle.

In Christ,

Fr.

God the author of life

What is life? We all have the experience of life, but what exactly is it? Some philo-sophers have tried to explain what life is, but they found that it is really difficult to explain what exactly it is. It is because life cannot be confined to an argument or a human explanation of it, since life is not something, rather everything. The closest thing to a definition of life, that

thinkers have done, is to describe it. Life is movement. We know that we are alive because we can move. From the air moving into our system, and the blood circulating through our body, to the miles we walk every day, every single aspect of our life is movement. We know that we are alive because we can breathe, and our heart is pum-ping blood everywhere, but what about the plants, and the trees? Do they also move? Yes growing is a kind of move-ment. God, who is our creator, and the author of life, is cons-tantly giving us life. God does not keep his BEING aliena-ted or separated from creation, many years ago he sent his only begotten Son, and then the Holy Spirit to us, that we may have life and life in abundance. From being nothing, he called us into existence, and now is constantly calling us to go out of ourselves to meet him, and our brothers and sisters. He calls us to receive life and to give life.
