A Message from the new Principal of Sacred Heart Parish School Dear Sacred Heart Parish families It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Sacred Heart Catholic School. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to lead this school alongside such devoted educators and staff. I am also very fortunate to be part of a strong Catholic community that values both spiritual and academic growth. I have been working in collaboration with church and school staff to make a smooth transition to our new normal of education during this time. Every individual that I have spoken with on this professional move has shown extreme love and commitment to Sacred Heart Catholic School and Parish. It is a privilege to be a member of this com-munity. I have been a dedicated educator for twenty six years working in Nogales, Arizona. During the last sixteen years I have been a literacy and instructional coach for NUSD#1. I have also taught college courses in Reading and Early Education for both Cochise College and Pima Community College as well as a course for the University of Arizona South. I have extensive experience working with students and adults on many levels. I am passionate about helping our children succeed and thrilled to bring my skills and resources as an educational leader to Sacred Heart Catholic School. I know that having a successful school is dependent on a partnership between myself, teachers, parents, staff, and com-munity members. I look forward to working with you to meet our common goal. On a personal note, I have four children. They keep me smiling all of the time. Three of them are living in Tucson as they pursue their own paths in life. I have one sophomore that keeps my husband and I from becoming empty nesters for at least three more years. I am a native “Nogalian” that loves my community as well as living by the border. Sacred Heart Parish is where I had my high school graduation mass, got married, baptized my children and continue to worship. I anticipate even more memorable moments there. I am continually learning and deepening my understanding of instruction and learning. I enjoy reading about effective pedagogical methods and implementing those strategies. My success is al-ways tied to student success which drives my decisions and efforts. I am excited to continue with the success established at Sacred Heart Catholic School and meeting the faculty, staff, students, parents and community members. I look forward to meeting you soon! Con gran emoción les escribo esta carta de presentación como la nueva Directora de la Escuela Católica del Sagrado Corazón. Me siento honrada de tener la oportunidad de dirigir esta escuela junto con educadores y personal tan dedicado. También me siento muy afortunada de ser parte de una comunidad católica fuerte que valora tanto el crecimiento espiritual como el académico. He estado trabajando en colaboración con el personal de la iglesia y la escuela para hacer una transición orgánica a nuestra nueva normalidad de educación durante este tiempo. Todas las personas con las que he tenido comunicación en este ambitoprofesional han demostrado un amor y un compromiso extremos con la Escuela y Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón. Es un privilegio para mi ser parte de esta comunidad. He sido una educadora dedicada durante veintiséis años trabajando en Nogales, Arizona. Durante los últimos dieciséis años he sido entrenadora de alfabetización e instrucción para NUSD # 1. Escuela de Evangelización San Andrés

Las Escuela de Evangelización San Andrés tiene como princi-pal objetivo brindar los recursos necesarios para preparar evan-gelizadores para la nueva evangelización del tercer milenio y llevar la buena nueva a todo aquel que la necesite. Actualmente en nuestra parroquia se ofrecen Cursos de pre-paración permanentes cada semana, con reuniones en el Centro de Catecismo y Sheridan Hall (2 veces por semana). Cada curso tiene una temática diferente que proporciona crecimiento espi-ritual y conocimiento a quienes participan. La escuela de San Andrés tiene participación en Retiros y Semi-narios una vez al año La Escuela busca apoyar a la Parroquia y a comunidades den-tro y fuera de la Parroquia.

Escuela de Evangelización San Andrés (St. Andrew School of Evangelization)

The main goal of the “Escuela de Evangelización San An-drés” (St. Andrew School of Evangelization) is to provide the necessary resources to prepare evangelizers for the new evan-gelization of the third millennium and to bring the good news to everyone who needs it. Currently, permanent preparation courses are offered in our parish every week, with meetings in the Catechism Center and Sheridan Hall (twice a week). Each course has a different theme that provides spiritual growth and knowledge to those who par-ticipate. The San Andrés school participates in retreats and seminars once a year. La Escuela seeks to support the Parish and communities in-side and outside the Parish.

Outdoor Sunday Masses In addition to live streaming our Sunday Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Spanish and 10:30 a.m. in English; we will be celebrating an "Outdoor Masses" at the same time of the live streaming (9:00 a.m. in Spanish and 10:30 a.m. in English) in our parking lot. If you choose to attend Mass in person, please be prepared to follow strictly the protocols. Hopefully by the weekend of August 22-23, 2020 will be able to return to the public celebration of Mass as in Phase One. Until then, please continue to pray for a miraculous end to the pandemic in our world. We also thank you for your continued financial support to our parish. Outdoor Masses Safety Protocols • The use of face masks is required at all times. • We encourage all parishioners to practice physical distance,

use hand sanitizer and wash their hands before Mass and when they arrive at home.

• No holding of hands during the Our Father. • No human touching during the sign of peace. • The Holy Eucharist will be received in the hand ONLY. Pa-

rishioners are asked to cup their hands so that the Eucharist may be gently dropped into their hands avoiding physical contact.
