Go Global Week 2018

Hear from organisations offering international opportunities at our International Fair and attend Information sessions in the Student

Guidance Centre Hub to hear from previous student participants about their experiences and how to apply.

• Organisations wanting to promote their opportunities

• Information sessions for internal programmes we are promoting

• Partners around campus

• The Language Centre at Queen’s

• Students Union (International Volunteering Opportunities)

• Faculty specific exchanges/opportunities

• Opportunities for students to engage with global opportunities alumni

• Representatives from European Institutions (Erasmus)

How can we raise awareness of the events?

• Posters, flyers and promotional slides sent around campus to all schools

and student hub areas for display.

• Slides circulated to other Careers staff to promote at other events

• Social media plan implemented across all major platforms (Facebook,

Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat)

• Pop ups in conjunction with wider careers service

How do we get buy in from Staff?

• Early communication with key members of staff to help with the

development the week of events

• Raise awareness with details of events in all staff communications email

• Connected with other School based university social media accounts

• Key information circulated to other staff to promote at within schools

• Invited them to come along to the events (especially the fair)

How can we engage students during the week?

• Make sure we are visible around campus during the week

• We increased our social media presence

• “Shout outs” by Global Opportunities Ambassadors at lectures

• Flyering immediately before or after major lectures

• Targeted emails to all students leading up to the event.

• Photo competition from previous alumni

• Student Assistants with placards (fair)

• Cheerleaders/American Footballers on front lawn (fair)

• Queen’s Radio (fair)

• Pizza, cupcakes, prizes (fair)
