Dear Parish Family,

We are all very excited about our pilgrimage, and look forward to walking in the footsteps of Christ. As we prepare for this trip, we are all very conscious of all of you who are not able to attend this year, and we want to connect all of our parish family to our pilgrimage. We go to these sacred places not only with our own prayer intentions, but with your prayer intentions as well. Fill out the form below and we will bring these prayer intentions with us on our trip, placing them on the altars where we celebrate Holy Mass when possible. During our pilgrimage we will be praying at these sites:

Holy Mass at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth (which contains the remains of the house where Mary lived when the Archangel Gabriel came to her); (November 6)

Renewal of Wedding Vows for Married Couples at the Church of Cana, built on the site where Christ changed water into wine; (November 6)

Prayer to Our Lady on Mt. Carmel; (November 6) Holy Mass on the Mount of the Beatitudes (the Sermon on the Mount) (November 7) Prayer on the Sea of Galilee (here Christ called fishermen to be His followers); (November 7) Renewal of Baptismal Promises in the Jordan River; (November 8) Holy Mass in Magdala (home of St. Mary Magdalene, Apostle to the Apostles); (November 8) Holy Mass at the Church of the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane (olive trees at this site

date back to the time of Christ Himself); (November 9) Holy Mass in Bethlehem where Our Lord was born; (November 10) Prayer at EinKarem, site of the Visitation and Our Lady’s Magnificat; (November 10) Stations of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa (walking the actual path Christ walked); (November 11) Holy Mass at the Church of the Flagellation, near the Mount of Calvary; (November 11) Holy Mass in the Upper Room (where Christ instituted the sacraments of the Eucharist and

Holy Orders at the Last Supper). (November 12)

In His love, Father John.

REPARATION THROUGH THE FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION

During the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima, our Blessed Mother showed the visionaries her heart surrounded with piercing thorns, which represented the offenses committed against her – and were the sins that needed reparation through the „First Saturday devotion’. To fulfill the First Saturday devotion, Mary asked that the faithful: “confess their sins, receive Holy Communion, recite 5 decades of the Rosary, and keep Our Lady company for 15 minutes while

meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, The two conditions necessary for the devotion are that the practices be done on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, and that they be done with the intention of making reparation to our Lady for the sins of blasphemy and ingratitude against her. Mary promised that she will assist at the moment of death with all graces necessary for salvation to all who make this devotion. Jesus subsequently appeared to Sr. Lucia, encouraging this devotion to be made not once, but over and over again.

We are Catholic Christians who embrace the plan of God for our salvation.

We come together in faith to worship in a loving community. We are moved by the Holy Spirit to witness to the life, death, and

resurrection of Jesus Christ. We wish to live out the vision of Jesus

expressed in the Beatitudes as it unfolds in our daily life,

through time, talent and treasure.
