TRANSCRIPT
Hey there WebTomorrow 2015
I'm @robinwauters and I think know greattech companies can come from anywhere
American companies are responsible for themajority of globally used operating
systems, cloud storage and on-demandsoftware services and platforms
The most commonly used connecteddevices are designed and/or made in the
US, China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan
And yet ...
54% of 'unicorns' hail from the US(38.5% from Silicon Valley)
More than 60% of software 'unicorns' in theworld today were not built in the Valley
And this is a growing trend
So, where does that leave Europe?
Atomico identified 25 European software'unicorns', or 16% of 156 tracked companies
Europe has already produced global leadersand 'unicorns' in a variety of categories, and
all signs point to continued maturation
But this is surprisingly uncommon knowledge
embrace and learn from failurebut don't forget to
celebrate and learn from success
