• 19% of the UK population have rights under disability
legislation
• The employment rates between disabled and non-
disabled people have remained relatively static over
decades
• Disabled people are nearly three times as likely to have
no formal qualifications as non-disabled adults

• The Purple Pound is a £212 billion market under
developed
• The fear of offence (language and etiquette) remains
• 45% of employers in 2016 believe disabled people would
be unable to do the role required
