    Many states (north and south) haveexpressed approval in principles ofresolutions

    served as rally point for democratic-republican opposition to federalist partyand Jeffersons presidential victory inelection of 1800

    South Carolina: nullification and secession.Tariff of Abominations and Tariff of 1832.
