DEFINITIONS:

REPORT NOTES:

1. For posted bridges without EV tonnage values provided in this report, the weight limits for EV vehicles shall be the tonnage values given for the applicable number of axles (i.e. "two axle",

"three axle", etc).

Pursuant to Section 1410 of the FAST Act (U.S. Congress, The Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (P.L. 114-94), emergency vehicles are designed to be

used under emergency conditions to transport personnel and equipment to suppress fires and mitigate other hazardous situations (23 U.S.C. 127(r)(2)). Under this

provision, the gross vehicle weight (GVW) limits for EVs is 86,000 pounds with additional limitations of 24,000 pounds on a single steering axle; 33,500 pounds on

a single drive axle; 62,000 pounds on a tandem axle; or 52,000 pounds on a tandem rear drive steer axle. Vehicles subject to this act are generally various fire
