So bring your leotards and leg warmers for the Revolution Group Fitness Open Day on Saturday the 8th of October. Get Physical (and creative), there will be a prize for the best dressed! And what better way to reward yourself afterwards than with a delicious coffee at Refuel Café. Join the Walking Club on their one hour outdoors walks Monday mornings from 6am to 7am. All you need is a gold coin donation to join in, you’ll not only be doing something good for yourself, you’ll also be supporting the Cancer Council. The Walking Club starts this November, Monday mornings 6am – 7am. Enquire at Reception for more information or to book your place. The winning combo of cardio, strength, balance and flexibility. This class is the all rounder for any Group Fitness fanatic. Move and groove to a variety of dance styles and shimmy shake your way to great health and fitness. Find your inner warrior with this high energy, martial arts and boxing inspired cardio class. Our new Group Fitness timetable commences October 10th. SPLIT SQUATThe Split Squat tones the thighs and buttocks while building

strength and power in the legs and lower back. This exercise

targets the Quadriceps, Gluteus Maximus and Erector Spinae

muscles. Not only is this a great exercise for lower body muscle

strength, it also promotes balance and flexibility.

Instructions:

Stand with feet far apart; one foot forward on top of the step

and the other foot behind. Squat down by flexing knee and hip

of front leg. Allow heel of rear foot to rise up while knee of rear

leg bends slightly until it almost makes contact with the floor.

The hamstring of the front leg should be touching the

nearest part of the calf.

Return to original standing position by extending hip and knee

of forward leg. Repeat and then continue with the opposite leg.

EXERCISE OF THE MONTH

RECIPE OF THE MONTHSPRING DELIGHT: SEASONAL FRUIT WITH HONEY DRESSINGNothing says springtime like vibrant pawpaw, fresh strawberries and stone fruits of the season. This delicious fruit salad will be the perfect contribution to your sunny picnic lunch or Sunday barbeque. Pawpaw is a particularly good source of vitamin A and C.

Preparation Time: About 25 minutes

Ingredients (serves 1-2)1 tbs finely chopped ginger

2 tbs honey

The juice of one lemon

Pinch of salt

Spring fruits of your choice: try any combination of pawpaw, strawberries, banana, peaches, nectarines, plums and kiwi fruit.

MethodWhisk all the ingredients together and pour over the chopped fruit. It’s that simple so spring to it!
