RESOURCE CENTRALRecruitment Media Channels in Europe

CAMBRIDGE UK & SARAJEVO BIH’.

It’s a Big Place...Isn’t It?738m people - 50 countries

• 10’000’s of job boards

• 1000’s of newspapers

• 100’s of Search Engines

• 100’s of Job Fairs

• 10’s of social platforms

and sometimes ONE great Candidate

So Where to Start?

So Where to Start?

Think Global

Act Local

Glocalisation

Lets “Just Keep it Simple” for NowQuestions to Ask Yourself in the Discovery Phase

• Who am I looking for?• How many am I looking for? • Which Country/Region/City/Town am I looking in?• Am I attracting, sourcing or a “bit of both”?• What is my “media” budget?• What do I think I want?

(Based on research, instinct etc) i.e. Job Board, Print, Event etc• What “local” language skills do you have?• Do you have an existing operation in the market?

(Ask the team where would they look for a job?)• Try with the limited time you have to understand the “mindset”

of the job seeker in that market – it does differ by country.

Attraction - So What Next?

• Become a Job Seeker – go to Google and search for the job you have, see which job boards and aggregators come up high in the search results.

• Look at the job boards that come either high in the Google Ranking or are in my list and “look” at them.

• Don’t forget the other channels, in Europe newspapers. Magazines and Job Fairs are still very strong (see list included + links to sources of information)

Sourcing – So What Next?Like the Discovery Phase BUT you have much less choice.

• LinkedIn YES • Xing in the DACH Region• Viadao - in France• GoldenLion in Poland• Facebook YES

But after that, the benefits of other channels reduce.

Market Leaders Work

The likes of Monster.com, Indeed.com and the Totaljobs.com Network all work for a reason

BUT in most countries in Europe you will find a clear market leader as a Generalist board and then

in some markets but not all niche sites.
