We are delighted that you would consider being a candidate for a president scholarship at Clayton State University. A Gallop Survey, reported by the Wall Street Journal, described the conditions for a university under which graduates were likely to later report greatest satisfaction. And the conclusion was that “the strongest correlation for well-being emerged from a series of questions delving into whether graduates felt ‘emotionally supported’ at school by a professor or mentor. Those who did were three times as likely to report they thrived as adults. Graduates who reported have ‘experiential and deep learning’ were twice as likely to be engaged at work as those who didn’t.” The authors concluded: “Having a teacher who believes in a student makes a lifetime of difference.”
Such support is found throughout Clayton State University. The Carnegie Commission has approved our classification as a community engaged campus, and our regional accreditation is successfully tied to partnering Academic with Community engagement. Our intensive and reorganized advising system structures academic support for our students. Even the president teaches one honors course each year. And our Career services program, together with a variety of academic programs, explores ways for every student seeking an internship to find one. In each of the last four years, Clayton State University has been named by the Atlanta Journal Constitution as one of the top workplaces in Metro Atlanta, based on surveys completed by faculty and staff here. US News and World Report has identified Clayton State as among the top 7 publicly supported comprehensive colleges in the South. James Magazine named Clayton State University as the best value for four-year public colleges in the State of Georgia. And so it is with great confidence that I say that should you attend Clayton State as a presidential scholar, and you take full advantage of the opportunities afforded scholars, you will have a very bright future.

”My dream in the long term is to have my abilities recognized by a concept plane designing and building company. Airplanes have always captured my fascination since childhood, with their substantial and marvelous structure. I organized my lifestyle to fit my hopes of becoming an aeronautical engineer. For this, the right surroundings is important so I can be exposed to a variety of experiences. Clayton State University offers these opportunities with their various organizations and convenient location, close to Atlanta.”
“To me life is more important than the knowledge you obtain, it’s what you do with that knowledge that matters. I plan to become a nurse so that I am able to continue to assist others throughout the course of my life. Improving the quality of life for others is something that motivates me to do all I can to make those things happen. Its more than just a college education or a pathway to a job it’s an opportunity to make tomorrow a better place.”

With a college education, I would like to achieve a numerous amount of accomplishments, including expanding my knowledge, creating connections, and giving back to others. High school gave me a lot of the basics, but my brain craves for more. One of many things I will accomplish with my college education will be to expand my knowledge in classes from at Clayton State University. The main reason for expanding my knowledge is to learn and give back to others. Accomplishments may change throughout the years, but my desire to give back, will not.”
“Since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of helping the youth, whether it is academically or through the community. This dream has grown stronger and stronger with every year of knowledge I have gained. The vision I see every day is a classroom full of kids from different races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. What do I plan to accomplish with my college education? I plan to be able to say “I did that, I said I will do it, it was done, and my college education will help me get there.”

“Since elementary school I dreamed of the time in my life when I would enter college, and now it’s finally here! During my college experience I will have the opportunity to achieve and accomplish many things, yet I am most eager to accomplish two things during my college experience; to obtain a deeper level and understanding of knowledge, and to grow above an average high school student, into the life-long student and outstanding academic leader at Clayton State University.”
“I intend to devote my life to the care and protection and specialize in wildlife and large animals. Earning a degree in Nursing at Clayton State University is the way for me to accomplish my ultimate goal of earning a doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM). A college education guarantees me a pathway to save lives, to shape minds, and to change the world.”
