I am particularly inspired by the patterning and shapes in landscapes and seascapes, contrasting the fluidity of water against the solidity of rock formation.”

The process

“I work chiefly from photographs, taken over the years on a variety of walking holidays. I try to abstract the essence of the view, taking particular note of light and shade. I hope that the spaces left between shapes as I wax lend a three-dimensional quality once the final dark dye has been applied.”
