WELCOME NOTE

Additional Deputy Commissioner

The Revenue Department (DM), State Government of Himachal Pradesh along with UNDP are working together to strengthen SDMA (State Disaster Management Authority) and all 12 DDMAs (District Disaster Management Authorities) by facilitating implementation of training & capacity building activities in the district as well as State.

This training is organized in order to comply with the statutory requirements and further all the trained participants will be actively involved as resource trainers in their respective departments.

The resource person (1. Ms. Abha Mishra & 2. Ms. KalikaMohapatra) from UNDP INDIA Head quarter Delhi will be training for five days. You all are requested to get maximum benefit out of this Course.

He emphasized the need of trainings in context of the challenges being faced by administrator in streamlining the activities of disaster risk reduction.

He shared his experience of Disaster Management with all the participants and gave wishes to all for successful completion of the course.

Ld. ADM welcomed the resource person (1. Ms. Abha Mishra & 2. Ms. Kalika Mohapatra) from UNDP INDIA Head quarter Delhi and all the participants of the program representing different departments and briefed all the importance of this training organized for five days.

He shared his valuable experience of disaster management and explained how preparedness plays vital role in response and could save precious life of people.

He asked all the participants to utilize their field experience and integrate the learnings of this training program so that they could spread the word in their department and initiate the process of capacity building at their level.

Worthy AC thanked both the resource person (1. Ms. Abha Mishra & 2. Ms. Kalika Mohapatra) from UNDP INDIA Head quarter Delhi and all the participants of the program representing different departments in five day District Level T. o T. Programme on Community Based Disaster Preparedness.

He asked all the participants to assist DDMA and other stakeholders in capacity building through trainings and awareness activities as well as to initiate mitigation and preparedness activities of disaster management.

He insisted that such trainings should be organized in Sub Division as well as village level for effectiveness in mitigation and preparedness activities.
