Reese/RhongaHardshell Down Jacket The brand new Reese and Rhonga jacket will keep you both warm and dry as Yeti creates its first hardshell jacket filled with water repellent down.

A completely new product crowns the Yeti range for AW 2016/17 as the company adds the two new classics Reese for men and Rhonga for women. The jackets combine a tough and waterproof outer shell with the Yeti trademark high quality down filling providing a jacket to keep you both warm and dry in even the coldest and wettest en-vironments.

Keeping the water out has been the key turning point in designing the Reese and Rhonga and the waterproof two-way front zip with windflap and chin protection pro-vide the initial cover. The main cover is the fully waterproof (10.000 WP/MVP) lami-nated fabric that withstands a solid downpour whilst allowing the body to breathe at the same time.

The fabric is two-way stretchable to ensure good movability in the 725 gram jacket that is fitted with a fixed hood with two-way adjustment and visor.

The jackets two waterproof front pockets are easy to reach and operate while the wa-terproof zipper under each arm make sure you can ventilate the jacket when you get too warm.

Exclusive dry down technologyDown has a tendency to collapse when wet, which has kept down fanatics a bit frus-trated under very humid conditions. But not anymore. Through a sophisticated tech-nology, it’s now possible to prevent the down from absorbing water. That’s why we call it Crystal Down Dry. In 2014 the North and Mode jackets were for the first time filled with Crystal Down Dry.

A special selection of the finest downYeti uses only Crystal Down a special selection of big fluffy European down of the ab-solute finest quality. Reese and Rhonga are both filled with Crystal Down Dry consist-ing of pure white goose down in a 90/10 ratio featuring a fill power of 700+.

Crystal Down from Yeti is solely from European geese and is mainly 100% White Goose down from Poland. The goose species is called White Koluda Goose, which is a large type of goose, ensuring large down ‘crystals’ with a diameter of up to 4 cm, which is premium quality. The fluffy crystals trap air and provide high insulation yet extreme lightness. A single gram of Crystal Down consists of up to 1000 individual pieces of down. Therefore Yeti is optimal performance: high insulation at ultra low weight. The fluffy down compresses easily, and gives the apparel great movability.

Yeti Crystal Down is measured and labelled by EN standards and complies with the EDFA Traceability Standard. Crystal Down reaches a fill power up to 900+ in a 95/5 down feather ratio.

Yeti Down CodexYeti only uses European down, mainly from Poland and Germany. All Yeti down com-plies with the EDFA Traceability Standard.

Animal welfare is a key element for Yeti and the code of conduct is clear and moni-tored. Yeti only uses down that is a by-product of meat production. Yeti down comes from free-range birds with access to healthy food, water, light and shelter. The flock density, handling, and transportation are regulated. Yeti does not allow live plucking, force-feeding, or steel wire cages.

The Yeti code of conduct is based on the EDFA Down Codex and traceability (European Down & Feather Association). This is the only standard which also includes monitoring of actual down standard. The EDFA Down Codex is monitored and controlled by third party (IDFL – International Down & Feather Laboratories).
