This is the first type of music that has been shown in the music video. It represents music from around the 1950’s. Elvis is being represented by them in this scene. The narrative of the music video appears to be going through the most famous bands of each decade, starting from the 50’s.

The second period of music shown in the video appears to be from the 1960’s, and seems to portray The Beatles, as there were a very popular band during this period, and were very successful.

This appears to be from around the 1970’s, with the mise en scene showing clothing well known to that particular period, such as the guitarist on the left, wearing a floral shirt which is mostly associated with the 70’s. The narrative of the music video appears to be going through the stages of music in history.

The band that they are portraying in this scene appears to be Prince.

This one is appearing to be from the 70’s or 80’s, it appears to be some type of rock. This is shown through the costume the band members are wearing, such as the lead singer.

A number of technical effects are used especially in this part of the video, which were popular to do at the time, considering that these kind of effects in music videos were relatively new, and not often seen until now.

David Bowie is being represented in this part of the video, this is done through the use of the costume and make up in the video.

This represents British music, most likely to be a copy of the Sex Pistols.

They are being represented with the use of the camera movements and shots, which all appear to be close ups of the lead singers face, and very fast paced camera movements.

One of the most memorable scenes in this music video is the rock scene, which portrays classic rock styles, such as painted faces, sleeveless tops, and other black clothing and items to fit into the rock genre they are aiming for in this section of the video.

There is not a particular band linked to this part of the video, however, Glam Rock is being shown, which was popular during the 1980’s.

The video has also kept up with having all of the band they are portraying on a stage, and not during a music video which is commonly associated with they bands.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are exploring most typical genres of music, this particular genre, which is most likely to be acoustic based music, however, and older form of it as times and technology has changed.

The last change appears to represent the Red Hot Chili Peppers usual style, this happens in many videos, where at some point the bands will go back to their usual style of music video.
