Since Corio was on a tight budget, we got creative with paint and carpet and strong architectural features like the Copy/Coffee Utility areas which were in the form of a trivet and which were topped with back-lit Lumacite panels.
Manatt - Palo Alto

An undulating fabric floating above the “bridge” and the perforated raised flooring below leads a person from the elevator core to the reception.

The circular “plaza” serves as a pivotal circulation and security point, expanding visually and spatially through the use of design features such as large pivot doors and a bamboo clad staircase.
A two-story mahogany portal rising to the upper floor maintains a sense of openness and adds warmth and contrast to the exposed concrete.
This was no easy task given the raised floor and a post-tension slab.
Long corridors are punctuated by dropped soffits with minimal rigid supports creating the illusion of floating above the secretarial workstations.

90,000 sq. ft. - $8 million construction cost
The final phase of a 2-year expansion and renovation consisted of a Conference Center built at $105 /sq.ft. and employing plasma screens built into acoustic wall systems and a rear-projection system for state of the art video conferencing and presentations.
The extensive and intricate custom detailing and planning, along with the MEP and audio-visual coordination made this last phase the most complex and rewarding.
Moody’s - San Francisco

One of the most complex designs/construction projects where, in order to keep the flow of space in a large floor plate, exiting and fire separation had to be achieved by innovative means like sliding fire-rated partitions.
The conferencing area was treated like an urban plaza with the Training Room opening up to the plaza by the retraction of the partition.
The storefront office fronts with an overhang of clear panels further highlighted the urban design theme.
The Brick-and-timber Historic building was effectively integrated into the design and serves as the employee-only lounge and lunch room. The brick and floor were left exposed with floating elements incorporated for acoustics.
The lounge has TVs and elements like a foosball table to maintain a bit of that past, fun-loving aesthetic.
