QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER AUTUMN 2011 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827 916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com. Summer is finally over, Yeah! The children/grandchildren are back in school, the air is cool and it is a perfect time to start those autumnal and holiday projects. Do not forget the OPEN HOUSE October 2nd, Sunday, noon-4pm. Come meet the teachers, see the new samples and get some goodies. Speaking of autumn, we have a great section of glorious fall leaves and related fabrics Believe it or not, we have been getting holiday fabrics in since June. We are already out of some Halloween and Christmas fabrics, but not to worry, there are still a few coming in and we have reordered some of the gorgeous ones. As usual, we have tons of batiks and more coming in every week, so do not forget to come in and check those out. Our shop specializes in Civil War fabrics since we all love them, we have lots of 1800’s, so if you are also an aficio- nado, you must come in and see the new lines. Windham’s General’s Wives will be a block of the month program where you can attend a get together or not, depending on your personal preference. The kickoff for this series will be Thursday, October 21. Come and check it out. The quilt finishes 100 x 100 and was designed by Jerry Stube, the fabrics are all Nancy Gere. In October, we will be receiving the entire line of Wilmington’s “English Lanes”. Just in time for Autumn, Moda is sending us “Indian Summer ”. It is Laundry Baskets’ newest line with cool earth tones, sun drenched colors, moody blues, chocolate browns, and red berries along with antique-button whites. There are 18 old fashioned prints and 22 soothing batiks. One of the patterns we already have is a vertical quilt, half pieced, half appliqued. It is to die for! In case you haven’t gotten the word, it mixes batiks with 1800’s. I was skeptical at first, too, but our two samples, one a feathered star and one called lemonade are gorgeous! Come in and see for your- self. Also from Moda is the entire line of “30’s Playtime” in typical 1930’s colors, mint greens, bright yellows and bub- blegum pinks. Great for adult or children’s quilts alike. For you grandmothers and new Mom’s, we will be adding “Sesame Street” flannel line to our Dr . Seuss flannels. Perfect for making a cozy baby quilt! Anyone who has been in the store knows we love Lakehouse and have purchased many of their lines for years. The newest one, Pam Kitty, will be here in November. It’s bright with clear whites, periwinkle, rose, yellow, blue and greens. All bright and clear and fun and will be great with the previous lines, such as Annie’s Basket fabrics, if you still have some in your stash. On to events…. The Tahoe camps will be over by the time you receive this newsletter, but there is still room in our retreat, October 7-9, in Auburn. Three glorious days at the convent in Auburn. Great food and company, your own room and no distractions like telephones and television. I always get a lot of work finished. Not to forget Pacific International Quilt Festival; we still have a few spaces on the bus which is going on Saturday, October 15th, from the store. We will be serving homemade pastries and coffee before leaving, and will stop at the Hofbrau for dinner afterwards. Admission is included and we have our favorite driver. If you miss out on the bus trip, look for our booth at the River City Quilt Show, November 18-20, at the Scottish Rites Temple. Last, but not least, we are having an AFTER THANSGIVING SALE on Friday, November 25th, 10am-6pm, one day only 20 % off fabric only. Can’t wait to see you all in the shop. Remember it is not to early to start those Holiday projects. Our staff is exceptional and capable of almost anything from helping you with a pattern you do not under- stand, to picking out a border or back, and we are really good at pulling a whole quilt. Just bring in a picture or pat- tern and we will accomplish miracles! For updates on events and classes and opportunities to know what’s going on at the shop, be sure to check out our website: www.quilterscornersac.com . We would like to wish you all a very happy holiday season and thank you for being WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS! Summer is finally over, Yeah! The children/grandchildren are back in school, the air is cool and it is a perfect time to

start those autumnal and holiday projects. Do not forget the OPEN HOUSE October 2nd, Sunday, noon-4pm.

Come meet the teachers, see the new samples and get some goodies.

Speaking of autumn, we have a great section of glorious fall leaves and related fabrics Believe it or not, we have

been getting holiday fabrics in since June. We are already out of some Halloween and Christmas fabrics, but not to

worry, there are still a few coming in and we have reordered some of the gorgeous ones. As usual, we have tons of

batiks and more coming in every week, so do not forget to come in and check those out.

Our shop specializes in Civil War fabrics since we all love them, we have lots of 1800’s, so if you are also an aficio-

nado, you must come in and see the new lines. Windham’s General’s Wives will be a block of the month program

where you can attend a get together or not, depending on your personal preference. The kickoff for this series will be

Thursday, October 21. Come and check it out. The quilt finishes 100 x 100 and was designed by Jerry Stube, the

fabrics are all Nancy Gere. In October, we will be receiving the entire line of Wilmington’s “English Lanes”.

Just in time for Autumn, Moda is sending us “Indian Summer ”. It is Laundry Baskets’ newest line with cool earth

tones, sun drenched colors, moody blues, chocolate browns, and red berries along with antique-button whites. There

are 18 old fashioned prints and 22 soothing batiks. One of the patterns we already have is a vertical quilt, half pieced,
