Logging into Indigo ProTo log Indigo Pro, type https:// and the Indigo Pro appliance’s IP address. Click through any security warnings and enter your username (default admin) and password (default netoptics) into the login screen. If you see a message prompting you to install a license, see the Indigo Pro User Guide for instructions. The license determines whether Indigo Collector Pro or Indigo Manager Pro functionality is available, and how many devices can be managed.

Discovering DevicesBefore you can begin monitoring traffic and devices, you need to create a network topology tree and have Indigo Pro populate it by discovering the devices you want to manage. Indigo Pro discovers Net Optics devices in the subnet ranges you specify, and assigns them to the selected nodes of the network topology tree.

To create a network topology tree:

1. Right click the Network Topology (top level) node of the network topology tree at the left side of the screen. The Add Region window opens.

Using Indigo Collector ProIndigo Collector Pro turns your Net Optics devices into remote traffic sensors so you can monitor traffic conditions throughout your network. Traffic statistics are collected through SNMP polling of devices, and also by receiving ProPushTM statistics that are pushed out by some Net Optics devices as often as once per second. Indigo Pro stores all received traffic statistics in a database and provides rich visualization tools that make it easy for you to analyze past traffic patterns or find out what is happening on the network right now. Some of the key features of Indigo Collector Pro are described here. See the diagram on the next page for indications of where to click to access some of the features.Key features:• View device traffic statistics. Right-click a device in

the network topology tree and select Show Statistics. (The statistics view is fixed for each device type; you cannot reconfigure it.) Open views of as many as five devices at once and tab between them.

• Create a dashboard of snapshot and historical data. Click the Dashboard tab immediately below the top menu bar to display the dashboard view. Click at the bottom left corner to open the Create Report window. Fill in the form to create a new report (graph) in the dashboard. Create as many reports as you want to; click the buttons in the lower right corner to display additional windows of reports.

• Export and print reports. Right-click on any report to open a menu that lets you save the report as an image, export report data as a CSV file, or print the report. (Not all operations are available on all report types.)

• Administer user accounts. Click the Administration tab immediately below the top menu bar to display the user accounts. Click a user name to view and modify the account information, or to delete the account. Click New User to create a new account. Click the Profiles tab to set up role-based permissions profiles that you can link to user accounts.

• Audit user activity. Click the Administration tab below the top menu bar; then click the Audit Trail tab at the bottom of the Administration pane. A list of all user activity in the Indigo Pro system is displayed. Click the column headers to sort the list by that column. Click Filter to narrow down the displayed messages. Click Export to CSV and Print to create audit reports.
