    i. Four core subjects i.e. Measurement of Building and Civil Works, Building Contract and Administration, Building & Construction

    Economics and Professional Practices to be taught by qualified QS

    professional personal who are members of allied professional bodies;

    ii. To have three month compulsory industrial experience in QS consulting firm;

    iii. To have an external RISM moderator or to provide all examination questions for moderation (to be looked into by the RISM Examination

    iv. The exemption granted by RISM to TAR College is for a period of three years subject to renewal by RISM.

    Appendix A

    SPECIAL ENTRY SCHEME

    1.0 Background

    Special Entry Scheme for Quantity Surveying Division was approved by the Council during

    the 1997/1998 Session. The purpose of the scheme is to give opportunity to Quantity

    Surveying graduates holding senior posts in an organisation or firm to apply for full

    membership with RISM. Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

    - 10 years of working experience with recognised qualification or; - 5 years of working experience with recognised qualifications and post graduates

    qualification

    Each applicant is also required to attend a special interview.

    During the 1998/99 Session, the Council has endorsed the Quantity Surveying Division's

    proposal to include 'contribution to the institution and profession' as an additional criterion

    for the Special Entry Scheme. Each applicant must contribute to RISM or the profession in

    the form of CCPD talk, articles or serve as a Sub Committee member at RISM.

    2.0 Requirements for Special Entry Scheme

    Requirements for the Special Entry Scheme are as follows:

    1. i) All applicants must have 10 years of working experience with recognised qualifications;

    or

    ii) 5 years of working experience with recognised qualification and postgraduate qualifications of which with two (2) years of the working experience shall be done

    locally.

    2. Contribution towards RISM or the profession in a form of one CPD talk and at least two (2) approved articles on working experience for The Malaysian Surveyor.

    3. Each application must be accompanied by the applicant's curriculum vitae outlining his qualification, working experience and current position in his organisation.

    4. The applicant shall be required to attend a professional interview conducted by the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and shall satisfy the interview panel with

    regards to his/her eligibility.

    5. All applicants shall be subject to approval of the Council of RISM. RISM shall not be obliged to assign any reason for the rejection of any application.
