PUMP HOUSE REGIONAL ARTS CENTER

The Pump House Regional Arts Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1977. Housed in a re-purposed municipal waterworks structure, the organization offers a wide range of visual and performing arts opportunities that take advantage of the venue’s theater, three art galleries, classroom, pottery studio, and meeting areas. Twin vaulted wood ceilings and historic woodwork accent the remodeled interior of the fully accessible cultural center.The Pump House Regional Arts Center is home to award winning concerts, drama, exhibits, comedy, films, classes and more. Serving as the anchor of the City of La Crosse Arts District for decades, the center is affectionately known by locals as “the Pump House.”

PICK UP Pick up your tickets at the front desk before the performance.(Tickets will not be mailed.)

TIMES TO NOTE The box office opens one hour before each performance. The theater opens for seating 30 minutes before each performance.

SALES TAx 5.5% sales tax will be added to all sales.

SEATING Seating is General Admission. Re-served seating is available upon request for Pump House members at the Director level and above.

BEvERAGES A cash bar is available before performances and at intermission. Beverages are welcome in the theater.

DAy OF SHOW TICKETS Day of show tickets, when available, may be purchased in person or by phone. Pre–purchase is recommended.

DISCOUNTS Member ticket discounts apply to Pump House productions as determined by your membership level and are available by phone or in person.

REFUNDS All ticket purchases are nonrefundable.

Often considered a “treasure,” the legendary Garnet Rogers is a skilled folk musician who writes beautiful, intricate lyrics, and plays a wide array of instruments including guitar, mandolin and flute.

Individually and collectively accomplished musicians, the “Ties Guys” bring life and electricity to any setting with their high energy bluegrass melodies, sure to wear out the soles of any audience’s shoes.

Performing at the Pump House for the first time ever, Copper Box is a genre-bending celebration of fusion roots rock that channels the feel of a wild, small-town party with their audacious Americana sound. A must-see!

With his faded blue jeans, his twinkly blue eyes, and infectious smile, Johnsmith connects with audiences from Nashville to Ireland. His folk music portrays his love of life, family, friends, and his desire to spread that love wherever he goes.

Long-time friends and travel companions of Johnsmith, these Pump House debuts wield an assortment of instruments, and bring audiences to life with catchy folk melodies that are big, bright, and electrifying to watch!

One of the leading voices in American songwriting, Ellis’ charismatic, personally authentic performance style has influenced a generation of artists toward true folk music.

An accomplished finger-style guitarist, singer and songwriter, Willy combines his musicianship with his honed skills as a storyteller and a comedian to bring a memorable close to the Pump House concert season.

Blending jazz, swing, and gypsy styles together, Harmonious Wail seamlessly fastens infectious rhythms alongside impassioned vocals to create an energized bond between their music and the audience.

[art]ifact: WHERE HISTORy MEETS ARTLa Crosse County Historical Society and Pump House Regional Arts Center present: “[art]ifact: where history meets art.” This unique exhibit showcases locally made historical artifacts from the La Crosse County Historical Society’s collection, alongside new original artwork inspired by these objects and their stories. This exhibit is planned, organized, and mounted with the help of students in the Public and Policy History Major at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.

CLAy STUDIO & ART CLASSESThe Pump House offers a popular Open Clay Studio, every Tuesday, 4-7 pm and by appointment.

Private lessons are available upon request.

The Pump House offers classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels, including drawing, painting, pottery and clay hand-building. Scholarships are made possible by Designing Jewelers.

PAINT & POUREnjoy a glass of wine while a professional instructor guides you step-by-step through a painting. Go home with a new sense of mastery, and your own original work of art. We provide everything you need including paint brushes, paint, stretched and primed canvas, and your first glass of wine. Additional beverages are provided at the cash bar.

Paint & Pour workshops are held the third Sunday and Monday of each month.

MUSIC TOGETHER & MUSIC TOGETHER BIG KIDSBebop & Bundles offers Music Together, an internationally acclaimed music program for young children (birth to 5 years) and the adults who love them. This program uses research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. Music Together Big Kids (ages 5 to 7) focuses on basic music literacy and introduces choreography, harmony singing, and much more.

PIANO LESSONSThe Pump House is home to Krysta Wright’s Piano Studio, welcoming students grades K-12 and beginning adults. Krysta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy and Performance.Call to enroll: 319-654-5236

HAPPy MUSIC STUDIOThe Happy Music Studio is a co-op of local musicians and music teachers. The co-op instructors include: Amy Magnuson: voice, piano, beginning guitar, and “music & mentorship”; Amy Hatlevig: guitar, sound and recording; Beth Miller: flute, folk woodwinds, beginning guitar; and Josh Rabie: guitar, fiddle, banjo, and harmonica. Artspire La Crosse connects our dynamic and creative community through meaningful arts experiences. Held at the Pump House in the City of La Crosse Arts District and throughout Historic Downtown La Crosse, this all-inclusive and free event represents and engages the many diverse elements and cultures of the La Crosse area.

An Art Fair & Sale is held, providing an opportunity for the community to interact with and support our regional artists. Multiple stages host a myriad of nonstop performing arts, entertainment, and cultural events. Interactive arts events are held in and outside of the Pump House, and throughout downtown La Crosse. Area food vendors are also present. And so much more!Artspire La Crosse is a production of the Pump House Regional Arts Center.

The Pump House Film Society gathers one Sunday evening per month, September through May, to screen award-winning films from around the world, then enjoy a discussion and share a light meal. Films are selected throughout the season to present the most recent titles available.

vOLUNTEER INvOLvEMENT

LITTLE FREE LIBRARyDesigned and constructed by long-time friend and volunteer, Dan Lee, the Pump House Little Free Library is actually a mini replica of our beautiful building. You can find the Little Free Library outside the Pump House, in the front of the building. Come visit, take a book, leave a book, or both!

Get involved in all the action and have fun while contributing to your community cultural center. Volunteers are a vital component to the Pump House Regional Arts Center’s annual success. They give thousands of donated hours assisting in a wide variety of necessary roles.
