WHAT IS PROJECT MANAS ?

Project Manas is a collaborative effort undertaken by the students of various streams of engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, MU to develop an ‘autonomous drive system for vehicles’ optimized for Indian road and traffic conditions.

It is a student project with the ultimate aim of creating India’s first autonomous or self driving vehicle .

WHAT HAS PROJECT MANAS ACHIEVED?

In March 2014 , Mahindra launched a competition “Spark The Rise” which consisted of a series of challenges. One such challenge was the Driverless Car challenge . Project Manas has competed against 259 applicants and is now among the top 13 teams of the country.

It is the only team by a private university to make it this far and it is managed solely by under graduate students .
