23. Details of fugitive emissions during mining operations *

Following mining & material handling operation has been considered for estimation of fugitivedust during mining operation- Drilling Loading of ore into haul trucks/dumpers Unloading of material into haul trucks/dumpers to stackyard Loading of OB, subgrade, & top soil into haul trucks/ dumpers Unloading of OB, subgrade, & top soil into haul trucks/ dumpers Vehicle (wheel) generated dust

24. Air Quality Impact Prediction (AQIP)*

a) Details of model(s) used for AQIP including grid size, terrain features, and inputmeteorological data

Fugitive dust emissions have been estimated using the methodologies outlined in theAP-42 (USEPA) and National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) Emission Estimation TechniqueManual (EET) for Mining Version 2.3 (DEH 2001) (Australia). Air quality impacts from theexisting and proposed mining and processing operations have been assessed using thecomputer dispersion model (AERMOD), developed by US EPA. It is a statistical Gaussianplume model that requires a time series of both meteorological and source emissiondata. Using the model, maximum 24-hour ground-level PM10 concentrations at thenearest sensitive receiver to the site has been predicted. All queries & waste dumps havebeen considered as area sources modeled using Open pit option. Meteorological datameasurements (wind speed, direction and temperature) recorded at site during Post monsoon,2018 have been used for modeling.
