Johns Manville Engineered Products Americas is a leading manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics. Evalith® nonwovens are manufactured with wet chopped glass strands or a combination of fibers (e.g., chopped strand + microfiber or chopped strand + polyester fiber) using a wet-laid process. Our vertical integration in glass fiber manufacturing coupled with our expertise in fiber sizing chemistry allows continuous improvement in glass mat design. JM utilizes a wide range of binder systems (e.g., thermoset, thermoplastic, formaldehyde-containing, formaldehyde-free) to support product properties such as tensile strength, flexibility, stiffness, chemical resistance, and volatile organic compounds (VOC) requirements. Our diverse nonwovens portfolio can be matched to a range of performance criteria, including acoustical, dimensional stability, moisture resistance, permeability, reinforcement, surface aesthetics, surface protection, thermal and more.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

Johns Manville Evalith nonwoven materials are used extensively in the construction industry as a reinforcement component in Commercial & Residential Roofi ng systems and as a facer component in Roof Deck and Exterior Sheathing panels.
