Dear Friends,
Pro-Life PhilippinesFoundation, Inc. is proud to announce that it will have its first
ever Pro-Life Awards on February 22, 2014. The Pro-Life Awards, bannered by its
theme I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullaims to
recognize the work of people from all sectors of society: individuals, companies, and
NGOs who have done their part in upholding our much-cherished values of Life,
Family, and Marriage. In a society confused and hurting because of the Culture of
Death, the awards provides a timely message to our nation that there is hope for our
country.
There will be three categories for the awards: the first category, Pro-Life Heroes, will
be awarded to those whose actions have upheld life, family, and marriage. The second
category, Pro-Life Champions, will be awarded to those who promoted the pro-life
advocacy in their work, community, or church, with special emphasis to persons in the
media who used their work to proclaim the Gospel of Life. The final category is theSr. Pilar Verzosa Lifetime Achievement Award. Sr. Pilar Verzosa, RGS, was the
founder of Pro-Life Philippines, and has guided and inspired us for more than 35 years.
This most prestigious award will be given to a single person who has dedicated his/her
life to protecting and promoting life, as well as helping the community around him/her
to grow using the tenets of the pro-life ministry.
Ambassador Jose Villanueva Romero, who was ambassador of the Philippines to
Italy from 1986 to 1992, is the chairman of the selection committee for the awards, to
be assisted by Dr. Rey Echavez of Doctors for Life as vice chairman.
