Private Individual Lessons Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, the Elmhurst University Community Program o ers private lessons to promote your growth as a musician.

The Community Music Program has more than 30 instructors, providing private instruction in voice and 17 instruments. Our students vary in age and skill range. Recommended age for beginning private lessons is 8.

Students enrolled in private lessons must have their own instrument or have regular access to an instrument for practice. Traditional acoustic piano is preferred for piano students at all levels.

Private lessons are taught in four sessions: Fall (12 weeks), Winter (8 weeks), Spring (12 weeks), and Summer (8-10 weeks). The lessons are scheduled weekly, for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. (per the instructor’s schedule and space availability)

Registration & Payment is due after confirming time with instructor.

Cost Lesson Length 30 min/week 45 min/week 60 min/week.

Missed Lessons, Cancellations, and Make-Up Lessons It is the student’s responsibility to notify the instructor 24 hours prior to a missed lesson. Instructors will not make-up more than 1 lesson per term. Lessons will be made up during the scheduled make-up week at end of term, or per the instructor’s schedule and space availability.

Performance Opportunities Students are given an opportunity to perform at a date and time selected by each instructor. Instructor’s will provide information if a recital is planned
