IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK

Illness seems like it is unavoidable, but there are ways to try and fight it. We ask parents to please keep their child(ren) home for 24 hours after they stop showing symptoms of ill-ness. This helps us keep the healthy children well and hopefully stop the spread of illness though a classroom.

Only One Mother Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky, Hundreds of shells on the shore together, Hundreds of birds that go singing by, Hundreds of Lambs in the sunny weather, Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, But only one mother in the wide world over.. - George Cooper-

PLEASE SIGN IN A reminder to our students and parents when leaving (or returning to) the school for lunch or appointments. Parents, kind-ly check in at the office first whenever you visit the school. We will then page your son/daughter to the office. We are asking that all students sign out or in ( a sign in/out sheet is inside the office ) when leaving or returning to the school, so we can ensure that all of our students are accounted for at all times. As al-ways, written permission notes are ex-pected in order to leave the school grounds if a parent is not present for pick-up (i.e. lunch) . Thank you in advance for helping to keep our students safe.

CONNECT CONFERENCE CONNECT is Canada's largest education technology conference, that brings educators to-gether to share and expand their horizons of education technology. This year, four grade six students from Ms. Dacosta's class were invited to CONNECT to showcase their innovative ideas. Grace R, Logan S., Lauren M. and Jordyn P. all participated in the 'Innovations for Space Multi-Media Challenge', where they were asked to find a solution for getting water to Mars. Their projects were such a huge hit at the conference that they were invited to see the keynote speaker, Astronaut, Commander Christ Hadfield, speak at his event. After meeting him and shaking his hand, he graciously offered to sign their projects- which will be hung in our school library to celebrate their hard work and innovation. We are so proud of these young scientists!
