Despite its rural digs this festival aims to provide a top quality experience for attendees. This annual benefit is one of the most popular festivals in the Bay Area, attracting thousands of foodies, art aficionados, wine and beer connoisseurs and music lovers to picturesque Watts Ranch in the village of Bodega, where Alfred Hitchcock filmed his classic thriller, “The Birds.” Over 15 restaurants and catering companies offer a bounty of seafood dishes, including barbecued oysters, crab cakes, Key Lime calamari, paella, octopus souvlaki, and other delicacies. The quality of the art and fine craft is unrivaled in Sonoma County and beyond. This juried show attracts artisans from throughout California and other parts of the country. BODEGA SEAFOOD, ART & WINE FESTIVALBRINGS DELICIOUS TO THE NORTH COAST!

It may be held on a rough and tumble ranch, but don’t be fooled by its bucolic surroundings. The Bodega Seafood, Art & Wine Festival, held on August 24th and 25th, is no country bumpkin event. Despite its rural digs this festival aims to provide a top quality experience for attendees.

This annual benefit is one of the most popular festivals in the Bay Area, attracting thousands of foodies, art aficionados, wine and beer connoisseurs and music lovers to picturesque Watts Ranch in the village of Bodega, where Alfred Hitchcock filmed his classic thriller, “The Birds.”

Over 15 restaurants and catering companies offer a bounty of seafood dishes, including barbecued oysters, crab cakes, Key Lime calamari, paella, octopus souvlaki, and other delicacies. Vegetarian options, chicken, and meat dishes will also be available, as will a bevy of luscious sweet treats.

The Wine and Microbrewed Beer Tasting is a huge draw for the festival and each year brings in approximately 45 companies from all over northern California to pour their varietals. Some of the top wineries in the area do this show, as well as many small boutique wineries you might find in a small obscure wine shop. Breweries are from far and wide and offer unique brews for sampling. NEW THIS YEAR: The festival will have a WINE STORE. Now patrons can sample wines and then buy them at the festival!

The quality of the art and fine craft is unrivaled in Sonoma County and beyond. This juried show attracts artisans from throughout California and other parts of the country. The festival aims to appeal to a broad range of attendees, by providing a mix of higher end fine art and craft and more moderate ranged craft work.

In addition to seafood, wine, beer and art, the festival also has three stages with a variety of musical entertainment, this year including the outrageous Tainted Love, Wendy DeWitt, Tom Rigney & Flambeau, Dginn, and many other stellar performances, plus the hilarious Daredevil Chicken, the unique magic Ryan Kane and the not-to-missed Captain Jack Spareribs.

A portion of the proceeds from the event supports two important causes — Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, which works in partnership with the California State Parks in the Russian River/Sonoma Coast region, and the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department.

Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 25. Admission is $12 in advance for adults and free for children less than 12 years of age. Watts Ranch is located at 16885 Bodega Highway in the village of Bodega.
