Jack Everly CONDUCTOR/CHEF D’ORCHESTRE

Jack Everly is the Principal Pops Conductor

of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the

Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony

Orchestras and the Naples Philharmonic

Orchestra. He has conducted the Los

Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood

Bowl, The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall

and appears regularly with The Cleveland

Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. This

year, he will conduct over 90 performances

in more than 20 North American cities.

As Music Director of the National

Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol

Fourth on PBS, he proudly leads the

National Symphony Orchestra in these

celebrations on the National Mall in

Washington, D.C. Originally appointed

by Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mr. Everly was

conductor of the American Ballet Theatre

for 14 years, where he served as Music

Director. In addition to his ABT tenure,

he teamed with Marvin Hamlisch on

Broadway shows that Mr. Hamlisch scored.

In 1998, Jack Everly created the

Symphonic Pops Consortium, serving as

Music Director. The Consortium, based

in Indianapolis, produces new theatrical

pops programs, including this season’s

Broadway Divas.

Maestro Everly is a proud resident of

the Indianapolis community and when not

on the podium you can find him at home

with his family, which includes Max the

wonder dog.

Jack Everly est le premier chef des

à l’ABT, il a aussi collaboré avec Marvin

Hamlisch à des spectacles de Broadway

que ce dernier a mis en musique.

En 1998, Jack Everly a créé le

consortium produit des programmes pops

Christina BiancoVOCALS/VOIX

Christina Bianco has become a worldwide

YouTube sensation with her impression

videos gaining over 21 million views,

leading to appearances performing

on The Ellen Degeneres Show and

The Today Show.

She recently starred Off-Broadway

in the one-woman, multi-character

comedy Application Pending (Drama Desk

Award Nomination), and other New York

credits include Newsical the Musical and

Forbidden Broadway Goes to Rehab

(Drama Desk Award Nomination).

Christina made her West End debut

starring in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s

successful production of Forbidden

Broadway in London. Previously, Christina

originated the role of Dora in the National

Tour of Dora the Explorer Live.

As a cabaret artist, Christina has

performed her critically-acclaimed solo

shows to sold-out crowds across the U.S.

and abroad, headlining at London’s famed

Hippodrome and the Royal Albert Hall’s

prestigious Elgar Room.

Christina frequently performs in

concert with symphony orchestras in the

U.S. and Canada. She made her NAC debut

in 2010 and her most recent appearance

was in the Broadway Standing Ovations

Pops show last June.

Mandy Gonzalez possesses one of the

most powerful and versatile contemporary

voices of our time. She is best known for

her emotional portrayal of Nina Rosario

in the Tony Award-winning Broadway

musical In the Heights, a role she originally

created Off-Broadway at 37 Arts. The

show received a Drama Desk Award for

Best Ensemble. Most recently, she starred

as Elphaba in the Broadway production

of Wicked, blowing the roof off of New

York’s Gershwin Theatre each night as she

belted out signature song “Defying

Gravity.” Mandy made her Broadway debut

in Jim Steinman’s Dance of the Vampires

starring opposite Michael Crawford.

Equally at home on the big and small

screen, she has appeared in Across the

Universe directed by Julie Taymor, and

on television in The Good Wife and One

Life to Live. She can currently be seen on

CBS in Madam Secretary as Lucy Knox and

can also be heard as the voice of Mei in

Disney’s Mulan 2.

N’KengeVOCALS/VOIX

Described by Berry Gordy as “the most

versatile artist I know,” N’Kenge recently

originated the role of Mary Wells in

Broadway’s Motown: The Musical. N’Kenge

made her Broadway debut in Sondheim

on Sondheim singing alongside Vanessa

Williams, Barbara Cook, Tom Wopat and

Norm Lewis. In 2015, she was a presenter

at the 58th Annual Emmy Awards, and she

has also had the honour of singing at the

White House. In London’s West End, she

starred at the Theatre Royal in a tribute to

the late great Ray Charles.

This energetic, well-rounded singer

was recently nominated for a Helen Hayes

Award and an Arizona Theater Award for

her portrayal of the leading roles in both

the Elton John/Tim Rice musical Aida and

in Marion Caffey’s 3 Mo’ Divas.

N’Kenge is regularly seen as a soloist

in pops programs with Maestro Jack Everly

and the Indianapolis Symphony, Baltimore

Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra

and others around the globe. She appeared

with the NAC Orchestra in the 2009

Pops show Disco Days and Boogie Nights

and again in 2015 in Classic FM. N’Kenge

has just signed a two-album deal with the

independent label Angels Like Rebels.

Kristen PlumleyVOCALS/VOIX

Connecticut native Kristen Plumley has

performed with many opera companies

throughout the United States, including

New York City Opera (Barbarina in Le

nozze di Figaro), Virginia Opera (Norina in

Don Pasquale and Zerlina in Don Giovanni),

Opera Memphis (Yum-Yum in The Mikado)

and Nevada Opera (Josephine in H.M.S.

Pinafore).

On the concert stage, Kristen has

performed a broad spectrum of works,

including Mozart’s Coronation Mass and

Haydn’s Mass in Time of War at Carnegie

Hall, Basically Bernstein with Opera Tampa,

and An Evening of Gilbert and Sullivan with

the symphony orchestras of St. Louis,

Richmond, Memphis and Minnesota. Her

favourite concert is An Evening of Sci-Fi

Favourites, hosted by George Takei and

conducted by Maestro Jack Everly; she

made her NAC debut with this show in

2009. Her most recent appearance with

the NAC Orchestra was in the 2010 Pops

show Guys and Dolls in Concert.

In 2011, Kristen performed in the

North American premiere of Handel’s first

opera, Almira, with operamission in New

York. She lives in northern New Jersey

with her husband and their ten-year-

Since graduating from the National

Theatre School of Canada, Manon St-Jules

has been leading a bilingual career,

performing in classical and contemporary

plays for big and small companies

in Toronto (Canadian Stage, Festival

of Classics, Theatre Direct, Pleiades

Theatre), in Montreal (Théâtre Denise

Pelletier, Centaur Theatre, Compagnie

à Numéro) and in Sudbury (Sudbury

Theatre Centre, le Théâtre du Nouvel-

Ontario). In Ottawa, she has performed

for the NAC, the Great Canadian Theatre

Company, Arts Court Theatre and

Théâtre la Catapulte, and she regularly

hosts concerts with the NAC Orchestra.

Her work on-camera includes dramatic

as well as comedic parts in film,

television and commercials, as well as

various multimedia projects. Selected

Tobi Hunt McCoySEASON STAGE MANAGER/RÉGISSEUSE DE LA SAISON

Tobi Hunt McCoy is enjoying another year

as Season Stage Manager with the National

Arts Centre Orchestra. In past seasons,

Ms. McCoy stage managed the Lord of

the Rings Symphony, Mendelssohn’s

A Midsummer Night’s Dream with

Christopher Plummer in 2001 and

Colm Feore in 2014, and much of the

Orchestra’s educational and Pops pro-

gramming. Last season she co-produced

the Pops show On the Air with Jack Everly

for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, a

show they also produced in 2007 for the

NAC Orchestra.

Additional professional duties have

included bracing the backstage doors

against the almighty power of Richard

Strauss, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the

air conditioning system at Montreal’s La

Maison Symphonique, guest conducting

the NAC Orchestra in rehearsal for the

Black & White Opera Soiree, providing air-

guitar support during the Led Zeppelin

tribute concert, shepherding numerous

choruses to and from the rehearsal hall,

utilising her creative Vancouver French with

the combined choral and orchestral forces

in Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, and duck

wrangling for the Mysterioso Pops concert.

She is excited to be back teaching

English and Drama at Lisgar Collegiate.

climatisation; dirigé l’Orchestre du CNA

durant une répétition de la Soirée d’opéra

Noir et Blanc; joué de la guitare imaginaire

dans un concert hommage à Led Zeppelin;

accompagné de nombreux chœurs dans

leurs allées et venues à l’arrière-scène;

exercé avec créativité son français de

Vancouvéroise avec l’ensemble combiné

chœur et orchestre dans la Huitième

symphonie de Mahler; et fait la guerre à

un canard dans le cadre du concert Pops

Mysterioso.

Cette année encore, elle prend plaisir

à enseigner l’anglais et l’art dramatique au
