What do you believe are the greatest challenges facing the sector or industry you would like to specialize in at IE? What role do you hope to be able to play in this sector or industry in the medium term? I would like to specialize in management and structured finance, both energy and infrastructures, diversified on international projects, preferably located all around the world’s leading markets. I think that the construction sector, where I come from, isn’t the future for Spain anymore as we have been developing it in the past decades. I believe the new approach should be into concessions, because the public administrations are financially bankrupt, so there are no public funds to invest on new infrastructures, as well as I believe the Government should invest in other priorities such as education, health, scientific research and policies to stimulate the economy and employment, After my years of experience on the private construction sector I gained knowledge about management, human resources, marketing, planning, cost and budget control and leadership; areas that I learned throughout the process of working, something you don’t learn at Engineering Schools. Attending the IMBA program, I believe that it will make me focus on these aspects, understand them better and project what I learned through experience, as well as other subjects like financial management or legal studies that I know very little about. Therefore my work experience enables me, with the proper financial, economic and entrepreneurial education, to compete and resolve the challenges I may face in the sector of concessions. This is a way to connect my studies, my recent career and to what I want to be challenging in the future. I want to specialize on entrepreneurship, because I’d like to learn the skills to be prepared in the middle term to found a company focused on energy concessions and pursue the development of an hydroelectric or thermo solar mini-plant. I believe I could play a good role in this area, because here I can combine my civil engineering studies, with my further business preparation and my entrepreneurial skills. What do you believe are the greatest challenges facing the sector or industry you would

like to specialize in at IE? What role do you hope to be able to play in this sector or

industry in the medium term?

I would like to specialize in management and structured finance, both energy and

infrastructures, diversified on international projects, preferably located all around the

world’s leading markets. I think that the construction sector, where I come from, isn’t the

future for Spain anymore as we have been developing it in the past decades. I believe the

new approach should be into concessions, because the public administrations are financially

bankrupt, so there are no public funds to invest on new infrastructures, as well as I believe

the Government should invest in other priorities such as education, health, scientific

research and policies to stimulate the economy and employment,

After my years of experience on the private construction sector I gained knowledge

about management, human resources, marketing, planning, cost and budget control and

leadership; areas that I learned throughout the process of working, something you don’t

learn at Engineering Schools. Attending the IMBA program, I believe that it will make me

focus on these aspects, understand them better and project what I learned through

experience, as well as other subjects like financial management or legal studies that I know

very little about. Therefore my work experience enables me, with the proper financial,

economic and entrepreneurial education, to compete and resolve the challenges I may face

in the sector of concessions. This is a way to connect my studies, my recent career and to

what I want to be challenging in the future.

I want to specialize on entrepreneurship, because I’d like to learn the skills to be

prepared in the middle term to found a company focused on energy concessions and pursue

the development of an hydroelectric or thermo solar mini-plant. I believe I could play a

good role in this area, because here I can combine my civil engineering studies, with my

further business preparation and my entrepreneurial skills. In addition I may contribute a bit

into our energy deficit in Spain, we consume more energy that what we generate; this is a

problem that is causing us to import energy directly and to rely excessively on oil and gas

from abroad to generate power.

Besides these aims, I believe the program will extend the perspective of my career

path maybe into other sectors that I’m not aware now. One of these sectors that I’m also

interested in and I’m familiar with, as a user, are the new technologies; this is an area with

big opportunities and many different ramifications.
