October 22, 2017 Twentyninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
World Mission Sunday Dear parishioners:
The parish pastoral council has asked that we take a separate collec-
tion for the most important tithes: World Mission Sunday, Infirm
Priests (Dec.) and Catholic Relief (March).
We now have classes each Sat. and Sunday. Saturday is 2 p.m. and
Sunday is 9:30 a.m. Students begin signing in at church for mass
attendance. My thanks to Al Garcia and Claudia Garcia for coordinat-
ing our programs and all their catechists. We have 140 Spanish and
55 English & RCIA students.
Families asking for infant baptism must make sure that godparents
(padrinos) are married in the church and are confirmed. Parents must be
registered in the parish. Call for preparation class. We will run one per
month. Parish: 303-534-4882 x17.
Quinceanos celebrations will be scheduled through the parish only. The
girl and her escorts must be baptized and confirmed to do these celebra-
tions. No exceptions!!
There will be a compulsory program for all parents whose children
are in the catechetical program. We will meet in Advent and Lent.
Please do not schedule any activity at St. Joseph Hall, in the church or the
gym without the permission of the pastor or the business manager. Check
our parish website for activities. Presentationdenver.org.
Scholarships were awarded to a number of students from the parish who
are attending diocesan parochial schools and catholic high schools. To
get a scholarship you have to be registered in the parish, use envelopes,
and attend weekly mass.
Parish attendance was nearly 800 last weekend! We hope to have light
refreshments starting next weekend. Suzanna de Leon and Anita Mar-
tinez are coordinating this. The Spanish youth group D’Militum will be sell-
ing food at St. Joe Hall to raise money. They can use your support..
Many thanks to the ladies who have been helping Julie record all of the
sacraments from last spring. God bless all of you!
Praise the Lord for this beautiful fall!

Regret and Abortion There are thousands of support groups across America helping women overcome the emotional toll of abortion. However, many pro-abortion advo-cates still claim that women do not regret their abortions. This flies in the face of both the facts and com-mon sense. But even if their claim were true, it does not make abortion defensible. The famous Nazi, Adolf Eichmann went to his execution saying he did not regret his participation in the holocaust. Lack of regret goes to the conscience of the person, not to the rightness or morality of the ac-tion. If we really want to know the role regret plays in the abortion issue, we need to consider how abortion-minded mothers later felt about the decision they made. What we would find is that for every woman who might say that she regretted giving birth to her child; thousands would say that they regret aborting their babies.

SENSE OF WONDER Ignatian Day of Prayer
Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, "The world is charged with the grandeur of God." Come and explore a sense of wonder at the grandeur in both ex-pected and unexpected places of prayer. There are so many places to come into contact with wonder. Choose a few. The Ignatian Spirituality Program will offer this day of prayer Saturday, November 18 from 9:30 A.M.-2:30 P.M. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2301 York St. Retreat di-rectors will offer presentations and prayer suggestions. Plenty of time will be allowed for individual silent prayer and reflection. We will celebrate Mass. Lunch is provided. For more information and to register, go to ig-natianspiritualitydenver.org/retreats/calendar or contact Paula Sapienza in the Ignatian Spirituality of Denver office: 303-320-9995; [email protected].
